If they can do stonehenge, they can do fatface. Ancient civilizations weren't that primitive.

exactly what im starting to believe, monuments like these suggest that these people were probably as advanced as we are in some fields, or possessed some kind of knowledge/powers that lost with time. Either this or.....

Re: mother of archaeology
actually no, it's documented that the biggest of these statues took decades to build and erect... there's tons of books on how they were made

It's tiring to see people look for the easy explanation all the time instead of looking for the rational one.
Once and for all: Aliens didn't build them, no lost civilization took part in building them and no God(s) helped them emerge.

Re: mother of archaeology
these monuments might have been built the old fashioned way (i'd appreciate any read) but i have to partly disagree, the builders of the pyramids for example possessed knowledge that was not discoveted until centuries later, clearly they were more advanced that we think they are

Re: mother of archaeology
so the knowledge wasn't "discovered centuries later" but "forgotten for centuries"

Re: mother of archaeology
sort of... but when you say "more advanced than we think" people usually go to conclusions like aliens or god so i like to avoid that phrase

I get pissed when that happens.
"Pyramids built by Aliens."
"Ghosts exist so there's a God."

Re: mother of archaeology
well the thing is you cant be really advanced in only one field without the required basics, for example the Egyptians supposedly had knowledge in construction and engineering but that requires knowledge of geometry and mathematics. They knew much about astronomy, but they knew more than they could learn with observation using only the naked eye.
The point is, whatever happened in the past, we only know little about it

Re: mother of archaeology
in 2500 B.C. people were laying out well planned town systems where construction was planned , proper drainages, disposal of wastes, grand buildings, uniform weights, measurements, coins of the same dimesions in areas 2000 km apart so , no i am not surprised they could build this
