Re: 'El Pulpo': Sergio Busquets
I would be interested to see how that compares with previous seasons seeing that Busquets always had high interceptions.
Also Messi involved in 9 of 12 goals :notbad:
Also surprising that Iniesta does not have a single pass before the assist.

Had an interview with the Guardian today, well worth a read:

Re: 'El Pulpo': Sergio Busquets
What a start to the article.
The last time Barcelona met Manchester City at the Etihad, Barcelona parked the bus. Then Yaya Touré clambered on board. According to Víctor Valdés, he spent “two hours” taking photos and greeting old friends.

Always stays out of limelight always. Games lyk yesterday show what happens when he is not performing good. The whole machinery breaks down

Re: 'El Pulpo': Sergio Busquets
Much improved this season, like Iniesta.

We're much better and more fluid this season than last. Neymar does a lot more playmaking, Busquets and Iniesta play better, building more from the back. Surely I'm not the only one who noticed.

Re: 'El Pulpo': Sergio Busquets
Very street smart this fellow probably one of the smartest nowadays. Also has godly touch and vision. What I like most about him is how fast he regains possession and also channels the flow of attack.

Re: 'El Pulpo': Sergio Busquets
Quite simply the most neglected player in the world.
Somehow every single award list and year and season countdown have managed to leave him out even though he is ever present in the team and the front three aside is so crucial for Barcelona.

"We would not have won half as much without him, neither Barcelona nor Spain," Gerard Piqué
"He is the most intelligent player I have ever coached, Watch him and you soon realise that one of the things he does best is wait. Few understand time like Busquets, slowing down and speeding up at the perfect point." Luis Enrique
By halftime of that Champions League final in Berlin, Busquets had played 40 successful passes out of 41 attempted. This season he averages a 93 percent success ratell.
"Busquets is my natural successor," - Xavi

Re: 'El Pulpo': Sergio Busquets
Imagine not rating him or associating him only with a dive from 5 years ago... Words cant describe how good he is

And it wasn't even a dive. Motta did hit him in the face. He just embelished to get a card, and it was definitely at least a yellow card (which would have ment Motta being sent off anyway as he already had a yellow).

Re: 'El Pulpo': Sergio Busquets
Yeah maybe it wasnt a dive but still it was playacting. It's silly to pick on a player for such a thing though, especially years after it happened, as most players do that pretty frequently, some even every game. And the worst thing is those people jump to conclusions such as "he's a shit player because he dives!".
Not gonna bother. Those who actually know football do rate him so it's fine. Ballon d'Or is also all about fame so that matters bleep all aswell.

Re: 'El Pulpo': Sergio Busquets
Since we are discussing about play acting I think some of our players would be better off it. I was particularly frustrated with Alves in El CLASICO. Now am all for tricking refs and earning fk in danger areas or penalties but if u "dive" with ur back to goal ur putting team in danger and sometimes may even cause a foolish goal. Not to mention it disrupts the very rythm on which we thrive

Valk is the only madridista I truly respect. He doesn't shy away, he doesn't hide his feelings. Most of you are afraid to step out with your affection towards magicians like Leonel or Nerman. Valk, have a nice day.
