I'm still not sold that Dante will go to Bayern. I mean, he wants an NT call up, but how can he present himself when benched? And as he's left-footed, too, I doubt he'd replace Badstuber as left CB.

I thought the Dante deal was official by now?
I'd prefer him staying with BMG and Bayern signing MOAR GERMANS anyway.

Also I don't think it's that important to have a right-footed CB as right CB, most clubs use two right-foots anyway, why should it be so bad to do it the other way round?

I guess it depends on the type of game you play. Most CB passes are square anyway, so I agree that which foot you use isn't that big of a deal.

Well, the last respectable sources I read about it were these:
http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/dante-transfer-zu-bayern-angeblich-fix--berater-dementiert/news/anzeigen_83856.html
http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/vereine/564893/artikel_eberl_dante-schon-abgeschrieben-nein.html

So the transfer is probable, but not fixed yet. Especially with Bayern I only believe a transfer when it is posted on the Bayern website - and even that is a bit questionable since their facebook app stunt Very Happy

As for the right footed / left footed thing - I think I remember I read somewhere that Heynckes prefers a left foot on the left CB position and a right foot on the right CB position. Unfortunately I don't have the source at hand, though.

Well, good, then. Bayern should stop holding back btw, they need to go on a mid-sized spending spree and fill their bench with quality, plus sign at least one more first-team worthy defender. Shaqiri certainly is a good start.

But they need to make some waves come summertime, they're probably already to thin to win the UCL, and catching up with Dortmund will be hard as hell as well.

wtf we hadnt had a clean sheet since october? thats pretty mehhh, but then again we play with the 'you score one we score 2' mentality in la liga which isnt at all bad.. although we have conceded some pretty avoidable goals among some great ones

So much for "Casillas is the best evar this season" :coffee:

More power to Manuel Neuer (1147min clean sheet streak this season) and Marc-André ter Stegen. ^^

tbf casillas has hardly been at fault for the many goals we have conceded in the league, our full backs often go wandering off, we are often sluggish initially at home, sometimes our defenders lose concentration ,its a combination of factors..

Funnily this sounds almost identical to what happens at Bayern. Looks like they might have a chance after all in the CL - at least when Gomez finds the goal more often again XD

true, bayern are definitely one of the favorites in the competition, just need to get rid of their bad patch, plus the motivation of playing in allianz in the final isnt to be taken lightly (though madrid did Razz )

Iker still has a better save percentage and has made more saves in both Europe and domestic competition.

Damn I read this thread too late.

I just called Bayern the 3rd best in another thread, and now they've advanced to joint 1st.

Is this silly and naive charade about Neuer/ter stergen/weidenfeller/harald Schumacher/ better than Iker still going on? LMAO

If we use stats to prove GKs are better than I guess abbiati was the best GK last year.

Iker still reings at the top

I take the numbers from the league tables. I might add CL and EL after the season when they are through as I'm frankly to lazy to add that up during the running season. Then I will also calculate the goal/match ratio to make the stats really comparable.

And why would they?

Iker wasn't better than Buffon a couple years ago and he isn't better than Neuer now.

Not that he's bad. But world's best? That's just delusional.

Which reminds me, FC Basel also only got 20 goals against in the league so far, but then, they only had 22 matches by now. Yann Sommer FTW!
