RVP to Barcelona and more...
according to elmundo deportivo [usually a reliable source]:
Arsenal forward Robin van Persie (28), whose contract expires in 2013, wants to join Cesc at Barcelona.
What do u think?
IMO, "IF" Barca wants a new forward for next season, although I am against the whole idea... I would prefer to buy someone like Neymar, BUT for not more than 30M.
After all we have lots of talented players coming through, they should take their chances, before buying any forward.
- Cuenca(20), Tello(20)
- Deulofeu(17), Rafinha(18) [who plays in Midfield
& upfront].
- Dongou(16), Sandro Ramirez(16).
- Also, Adama Traore Diarra (25-1-1996, Mali) seems to be very talented, i watched the highlights for him last week with Juvenil A [U-19 A], where he made his debut, played just in the last 15 minutes, created 4-5 goalscoring chances, including 2 assists !!! Very Fast, gd dribbler [ he's a winger].
So....
===================
Other news:
~ After he returns from the Africa Cup, Malian midfielder Seydou Keita (32) will meet with Guardiola to discuss his future. [sport]
~ Isaac Cuenca (20) will tomorrow around 16:30 sign his contract renewal until 2015, after which he'll be definitely part of the 1st team [md]
~ Belarusian attacker Alexander Hleb (30), back from loan at Wolfsburg and contract until June, could sign for Greek club Olympiakos. [as]
~ Marinho (ex-Barcelona): "I'm friends with Santos executives, Neymar's transfer is well-advanced. Sooner or later he'll play at Barça." [com]
~ A deal on the renewal of B goalkeeper Oier Olazabal (22) until 2015 is close. He could become first team's 3rd goalkeeper next season. [md]
~ Official: Former (2007-08) Barcelona player Victor Sanchez (24) joins Espanyol for 3.5 seasons, from Neuchatel Xamax.

Re: RVP to Barcelona and more...
Not going to happen. He is a great player, but how does he fit?
Not fast enough for the wing, doesnt run in behind so much. Whats the point?
I wouldnt be surprised if there is some kind of deal in place for Neymar anyway.

agree.. i don't think he fits our system, Neymar would be a better option IF we need a forward for next season.

Update:
The agent of Alexander Hleb confirms he'll be released from his contract this afternoon. He could join Olympiakos or a German team. [ona as]

Re: RVP to Barcelona and more...
RvP would fit Barcelona's system same as Cesc :lucas:
And I doubt RvP even said that he wants to join Barcelona, sooner than later he'll sign a new contract with us.

Re: RVP to Barcelona and more...
Since Neymar is being mentioned so much I have a question.
Given that Neymar and Ganso got a royal thrashing in the Club World cup, are they ready to carry Brazil's hopes at WC 2014?

Playing with Santos against one of the best teams in history is one thing, playing with the Brazilian NT against other NTs is a different storymessixaviesta wrote:Since Neymar is being mentioned so much I have a question.

Not yet, time will tell if they are. I have my doubts they will have matured enough as footballers by the time the WC rolls around that they will be able to carry the expectations.messixaviesta wrote:Since Neymar is being mentioned so much I have a question.

Not yet, but the loss to Barca isnt the reason for it. Especially Neymar.

Re: RVP to Barcelona and more...
The only striker that I wanted in the summer and still want is Sergio Aguero. Only his transfer to our club would make my excited. Van Persie is great, but too old, time for us to buy younger players with resale value, not Van Persie. IMHO we shouldn't go to Ibra and then for a Villa. I preferred in both summers Aguero instead of them. Who did you want? I know a lot of Cules who wanted Benzema.
BTW I just remembered that Guardila rejected Di Maria's signing because he did not want for Pedro to have a competition I rate Di Maria very highly, a story said that we had a deal with Benfica for 20M euros, but Guardila rejected Angel. Di Maria >>>>>>>>>> Pedro for me, come at me free_cat. I don't care that he dives, he is better than Pedro. Di Maria

Matpol it seems unlikely that Guardiola rejected Di Maria for that reason, given that he was behind the purchase of Alexis.

Valencia's Adil Rami (26) and AC Milan's Thiago Silva (27) are two of the centre backs Barcelona is scouting with an eye on next season [as]

Re: RVP to Barcelona and more...
I'd actually prefer him not to sign. Partially due to his personality and partially because he was shit for the Netherlands in all those games in which we played against a bus in front of a goal (which is what Barça's games look like most of the time, obviously). I'm also pretty sure that he thinks he is way too good to sit on the bench, so that's another issue when you have Messi, Villa, Sanchez, Pedro, Cuenca, Afellay (and nowadays also Cesc) for just three positions.
