I still think he's off to Germany with Shurrle or Lewandowski heading for the Bridge

only on loan, I hope. Otherwise we should keep him instead of Schurrle.

Yeah. KDB is more important than Schurrle.

If we just kept KdB and Lukaku i'd be pretty happy not buying anybody else. Maybe one CM but that's about it.
We'd have more depth than last year and could alter between Lukaku/Ba.

Lukaku and Ba aren't going to win you the Premier League, mate. Another striker simply must be brought in.

We've never been a team that's relied on our strikers to score us goals. Last time we had a 30+ striker was Drogba and he only ever broke that once. Before that most of them were around 15-20 goals.

Re: De Bruyne watch
Ba is questionable and Lukaku won't score anywhere near the number of goals he did at West Brom at CFC at this stage in his development. Relying on a 20-year-old kid is not something the Chelsea board are dumb enough to do especially considering the fact that our woes these past 2 seasons have come from relying on a striker or strikerS who failed to perform.

Why wouldn't Lukaku score the same if not more? Better players, better manager and he will have improved from last season. We will need more than the 2 of them though simply because of the number of games we play each season.

Re: De Bruyne watch
The statsheet says he's a brilliant striker, great. But actually watch the games and they say something entirely different. There are several facets in his game that still badly need correcting and improving. His first touch often is bad, his passing in the final third is poor, and his finishing needs working on badly. Add to that the fact that the majority of his goals were scored on the counter - where he had much more space to operate in - and after he had come on as a sub and the disparity between what he's accomplished this season and what's needed of a striker at Chelsea start to become more and more clear.
There's a huge difference between scoring on the break against tired defences and playing as a center-forward for Chelsea, where teams set up entirely differently than they do against a mid-table side like West Brom. Against top, top opposition like CFC, teams approach games much more cautiously and keep plenty of numbers at the back. Can he deal with that?
How will he deal with the pressure? There's a need to perform brilliantly week-in, week-out. Every flaw will be magnetised and every mistake could have massive ramifications. Is a 20-year-old kid capable of dealing with that psychologically? Are you willing to risk the club's entire season on that kind of situation?
Keeping him back could not only halt his fantastic development up to this point, but also indeed send him backwards.

Yeah fair call. I do think Mou could instill confidence in him and help him under pressure but I get what you're saying. We're bound to be playing a counter type style which I think could suit him if he stays. That said a more technical side like Swansea could do wonders for him.

Re: De Bruyne watch
Have been saying the same myself for awhile. Swansea would have been the perfect place for him to go for a year before being ready to come back to CFC and truly challenge for a spot. Their style of play would have allowed him to perfect the technical side of his game and play week-in week-out with Michu likely moving back to his original position of playing behind the striker as he did in Spain.

Re: De Bruyne watch
Except we also had Anelka was chipping in agood number of goals as well, and Kalou who was pretty much a false CF. We NEED at least one world class striker and Ba/Lukaku simply aren't going to cut it.lszanto wrote:Shed wrote:Lukaku and Ba aren't going to win you the Premier League, mate. "The most important thing for me is to play games," De Bruyne told Sky Sports News HD.
"I know that I will be stressed when I play a few games on the bench.
"I always try to give my best for the team and I've had a great season, but also next season I need to play a lot of games. With the point of the World Cup, it's very important."
Asked if he has spoken with Mourinho, the youngster added: "Not yet, but I think the time will come. The season is over now. We will see what happens."
