To Porto and Uruguayan experts: How is Fucile doing?
Now, here's the story: We've sold Danilo (!!!!!!!!!) to Porto for 13m euros, but they tried to cheat us, so we were unwilling to let him go. In the end, they agreed to loan us Fucile who plays on Danilo's position.
I have no doubt that Danilo's potential can lead him to be a top fullback, much better than Fucile, and I wish we'd kept him. But he wanted to Europe, which is understandable.
However, do I like the fact that the Uruguayan was at the 2010 WC and will bring us experience in that kind of situation for the Libertadores.
But now I've read here that the he hasn't even been sitting on the bench for Porto lately?? And if I'm not mistaken, he wasn't at the Copa América last year either? Does any of you know why? Has he been in bad form, terrible form, injured, etc. or what? It's not like he's old. 27 or something.
Anyone? Notice that I am not asking here whether you think he's among the 3 best fullbacks in the world atm, etc. I am not delusional. But if you are here to brag about how "your" team (Barcelona, RM , city, united, chelsea, etc) have the best fullbacks in the world, please, gracefully *bleep* off.

Re: To Porto and Uruguayan experts: How is Fucile doing?
I had him on my CL fantasy team for the group stages. He gave me a few points, but i think he did not play the last 2-3 matches...
I have no idea about him right now though. You should ask the franchise for more information. There is one Porto fan in the forum too. I am sure they will be posting here soon.

Re: To Porto and Uruguayan experts: How is Fucile doing?
Too many stupid tackles, stupid decisions, picking up needless cards.
Last time I see him start a game with any importance it was vs Zenit. Porto had the game well in control and this moron picks up silly yellow cards and gets himself sent off. Zenit take over the game we Porto lose 3-1. I am convinced that game was the biggest blow in sending them out of the CL and he gets alot of blame for that.
To be honest, I have not really seen him play well enough to impress me since AVB and even then he wasnt that great.
He used to be a solid fullback who you knew what to expect from, I dont know what changed.

That really is too bad . Perhaps coming to Brazil and being much closer to Uruguay will help him. I can only hope for it, because he is replacing someone who was fundamental in our Libertadores campaign last year. He's only 27 , so there's still time to change!!

If he can get back to his old level, I think you will be pleased. If he still has that consistency in him, he probably wont amaze you, but at least you will know what to expect from him.

Re: To Porto and Uruguayan experts: How is Fucile doing?
Fucile made his first appearance for Santos last night, even though he hasn't been officially "presented" to the press yet.
He came on the second half, and had a very good game. Two shots on goal, one of them close to coming in. Very fast, very nice. And he'd only trained with the rest of the team for a few days. I think he basically earned the starting RB spot (which was expected), so I expect him to start against The Strongest next week for the Copa Libertadores.
Sometimes, when moving on to a new club, the player gets some fresh air and recovers his form . Especially when he's playing next to the inspiring Neymar (who scored a hat trick last night), Ganso (who's on his way to 100% again), Arouca, and so on.
