Ballon D'Or: Players Who Can Stop Lionel Messi

Robin Van Persie IMO.
One of the best players in the world atm. Producing magic in weekly basis. Captain, match winner, goal scorer, creator, you name it.
Unfortunately. Strange things happened before. Ballon Dor doesnt have a nature of winners, sometimes being too biased towards Messi.
Sneijder or Xavi should have won it in 2010 for individual and team performances.
Messi only had individual performances to back it up.
Anyway...
Players will not stop dreaming to get a piece of that.
So others who can win next year are:
David Silva, Man City
Xavi, Barcelona
Benzema, Real Madrid
Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid
Super Mario, Bayern
Etc...

Xavi or even Iniesta, if Spain wins the Euro and/or Barcelona win the Champions League (although the CL may favour Messi).
Schweinsteiger, if Germany wins the Euro and/or Bayern Munich win the Champions League (they're one of the favourites, IMO).

If Messi performs like he always does, he will win it. Only one who I can think could brake that is Cronaldo, but he would have to win all the titles, and start producing something in big matches and against Barcelona.

The fact is Messi produces moments of 'magic' pretty much week in week out. The guy will probably win it. Except Arsenal win the CL or RVp is a major player in it I don't see how he will even get a shout. If Bayern win it then Bayern Players will be in it. Depends on the CL and the EUros tbh.

Funny that people keep mentioning titles when discussing the balloon door, i was always under the assumption it was a trophy rewarded to the best individual player of the year....

RVP needs to win something to get the award
Battling for fourth just doesn't count as much
Even though he's single handedly carrying his team (he has like 21 goals and their second highest scorer is on 4 :lol!

cant see why people are laughin at rvp or balotelli being possible candidates.
if they can both keep up there form for there teams, and have a really good euro meaning they lead there country to win it.
