Chamberlain is a natural born Trequartista.

Re: Chamberlain 2012-13
If Gervinho had a decent final ball then he'd be our best current winger. But his pace and chance creation are still top stuff so don't count him out. He'll produce for us.
AOC is going to be absolutely stunning though. He's going to blow every winger we have right now out of the water. (Ryo remains to be seen)

Ryo has unlimited potential. If he's developed correctly, then he can be a world beater. Has loads of pace and skill already

Well apparently his attitude is piss poor and he hasn't impressed the manager enough to get many appearances on loan.

True but dont forget hes still very young and has a lot of time to sort himself out. Rvp was a really nasty little git before he joined arsenal, now hes like Mr.Nice

Wenger: Chamberlain will get games
Wenger: "Oxlade-Chamberlain is very close now and he will be used in the next six months for sure."
Wenger: "Oxlade-Chamberlain is working on his defensive side, his urgency and his committed level as well."
Wenger: "I am confident that in the next few weeks Oxlade-Chamberlain will play."

Re: Chamberlain 2012-13
Wenger saying chamberlain needs more commitment, and thats why he hasnt been playing him. So he was playing arshavin to show chamberlain what not to do?

That's basically a huge show of confidence in Chamberlain. Arshavin plays left AM, while I'm pretty sure Ox will be deployed on the right.

I wont believe it until i see it tbh. Wenger said this sort of thing before and then didnt play him. I wont be surprised if Henry is used off the bench before chamberlain

Re: Chamberlain 2012-13
well arshavin is still better than oxlade overall. I would argue that if Arshavin gets his 08/09 form back he will bench gervinho as well.
Oxlade is very raw, his proper season would be the next one

I would take oxlade over Walcott and Arshivan I know he is young but both these guys need to step up or wont get playing time.
Oxlade has been impressive every time I have watched him.

Re: Chamberlain 2012-13
realgunner arshavin is not even a shadow of his 08/09 self. We bought him, he got us in the champions league, and hes been useless ever since apart from having the odd moment of quality like goal vs barca. This season apart from his assist for rvp againt qpr he has been nothing short of awful, whenever hes come off the bench hes contributed almost nothing, cant believe chamberlain wouldnt have done better

Re: Chamberlain 2012-13
The Ox hasn't been playing because he has been working on his commitment levels and his defending. In other words, he is being taught when to push forward, when to track back, when to press and when to just stand idly to regain some energy. He is being taught to run after the ball more, like Benayoun does.
They did a great job with that though. From the few matches he played, they spotted the *very* obvious flaw in his game and started mending it, instead of just throwing him on the pitch and let the team suffer more.

Re: Chamberlain 2012-13
Personally, I feel that if there's pressing need to play a young player when he isn't ready, then don't. This is Chamberlain's first taste of top flight football. In the space of a few months he's gone from rising talent in the lower leagues to playing in the Champions League and being considered for the England first team.
So I think it's good that we've given him a period of bedding in instead of just throwing him into this envionment where expectation is high. Note how nobody ever mentions the potentially £15mil price tag this kid has come with. Proof enough that we've done a good job of playing down that "buzz" that was surrounding him.
Wenger has said that he'll get more games in the second half of the season - that he is now properly ready to play more games. I'm certain he'll be getting more game time.
There's a lot I like about him, but there are things he still has to do before I can consider the "future of Arsenal" or anything extravagent like that. I want to see how he does when given a run of games. He's done well with the odd game here or there, but then most youngsters do. The question is can he do a "Wilshere" and prove he can produce quality consistently over a few games? Also, how does he respond when he has bad games? Only things we can speculate on at the moment.

Re: Chamberlain 2012-13
He should still have had more chances coming on from the bench. Since his game vs man city i noticed a big improvement in his general play, since that game he should have got more chances imo. Doesnt matter for him in the long run but you know we may have more points on the board now if we'd brought him on in games like wolves where we brought arshavin on instead
