Re: The Movie House
Indeed. It's so sad, the competition can be really bad one year and excellent the next. Nothing you can do about itLegend wrote:still can't believe riddley hasn't won a Oscar yet
EDIT: Scott inspired the whole generation of sci-fi movies with his classics as "The Blade Runner" & "Alien". Despite that, he was never going to stay in only one ganre. He excelled in movies such as "Thelma and Louise", "Black Hawk Down", "The Gladiator", "Matchstick Men" and so on. This guy made many of my favourite movies, he knows how to crate atmosphere, but not only that, he knows how to play with it, how predictable your thinking can be and he makes the most of it. I just hope to see more of his movies i nthe future. He rarely fails me when he makes something "epic".

don't know man, Ridley is almost 75, and this will probably be his last big bang...he might make some low end movies but this is probably be the last one...
unless he tried to remake Blade Runner

In between Prometheus and the Hobbit I'm more than satisfied with this year's movies, to be honest.

Re: The Movie House
I know he's old. That's why I'm saying I wish to see him make more movies and not retire. Maybe not something huge as Prometheus, but definetely worth seeing.
And, no. Ridley will not remake Blade Runner. That was one of the most exhausting movies ever, not only for director but also for the whole crew. 75 yo.. I don't think so.
Also, moderators, I thank you politely for merging my thread into a existing one. It did confuse me as I was bewildered, nay baffled - almost abashed, puzzled and a bit rattled, mystified, perplexed and slightly perturbed at the mysterious disappearance of my thread which was in existance since a couple of months back. Thankfully, I was able to clarify the source of my demoralization on my own, for I have not been informed of this change through my personal P.O. box. As it turned out to be, I have, much to my embarasment and remorse, found out that here is a sub forum for topics such as, as was in this case too, cinema and moving pictures themes; and that my topic was merged into this intended compound for purposes of handling the vastness that this sub forum is.
Luckily, my confusion is gone now, and I would like to congratulate fellow moderators for introducing this socialistic managing to my attention. I will most definetely pay attention to this in the future. Please, excuse my ignorance or, if you manage to find any, arrogance in the post.
Much obliged

Re: The Movie House
Meh, Battleship... When I first saw trailer I was like But that went to drain when I found out Rihanna is "acting" in the movie (don't get me wrong, I don't care if she did an ok job, I hate when they sell that bullsh!t).
The special effects and the sound crew must be the one from Transformers, I recognize the familiar sound (as in the "Super 8"). I won't watch this in cinema, maybe not even on PC later. Something about Liam Neeson's latest movies make me feel like I wasted time and money on something that was obviously made for the money alone. This guy spits movies out like a hypersalivating llama.

The Avengers...
Anyone see The Avengers yet?
OH MY GOD. SO GOOD.
Hand down, best superhero movie I have seen in a long while. Maybe even the best.
Pure entertainment. See it.

That was what I was saying last night. In terms of a better made movie, TDK is probably above it. But in terms of Super-Hero-Awesomeness and action, I think this takes the cake

Re: The Movie House
For the fun factor the Avengers owns anything you put it up against. Perfect switch-your-brain off movie. Can appeal to anyone from kids to adults.
TDK is definitely the better movie.
I personally felt the individual Marvel guys' movies weren't that good. Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America were pretty meh.
