Camera quality is not defined by megapixels. It's defined by the type of lens. A 3 MP camera can take better photos than a 12 MP camera.

care to explain? my engineer logic tells me that 12 pixels make a clearer pic than 3 pixels if u take the same size of canvas.

maybe...but the snaps taken with a 5mp xperia x10 definitely looked better than the ones taken form my nokia N73 3.3 mp camera with carl-zeiss optics.
but which camera phone do you think is the best from the ones i listed?

yea i read that before i actually posted. seems that image quality is a very subjective matter. to me the most important factor of image quality is how much i can zoom into the picture with clear resolution, which is what pixels define. theres a 8 gigapixel picture of dubai, u can practically zoom into every part of the picture and still see everything perfectly clear, to me thats a quality image.

I smashed my iPhone 4 by accident a few weeks ago.. Was gunna get the 4S. Then I went to Verizon and played with the Galaxy Nexus. That phone is boss, my 4 looked like tiny next to it and ICS was smooth as hell. I think I'm gunna pick up the Nexus tomorrow now.

A camera's quality is generally based more on the sensor being used rather than the mega pixels.
So the priority goes, Sensor >= Lens > Resolution.
Phone cameras implement tiny sensors to capture the image. When you cram 12 megapixels onto a tiny sensor, it has the ability to increase the noise and lower image quality.
Furthermore, sensors dictate the sharpness, low-light performance as well as the dynamic range of images produced.
With that said, the lens systems used make a difference as well, but in the case of camera phones, at least in the tests I've seen, you are not going to find huge differences between cameras today.
For best quality, The old Nokia N8 is still king. Probably the biggest sensor seen on a cell phone to date, decent optics and includes an inbuilt ND filter.
As for the Gigapan image above - I hope you don't think that is a single shot. Gigapans are composed of 1000s if not 10000 images. A DSLR (usually) is placed on a gigapan tool that makes you zoom in to each portion of the picture and then automatically shoots pictures left to right, top to bottom. Software is used to merge the various images to create what is seen above.
It ultimately also depends on what camera you've used for the above. Which is why you've find a lot of crappy gigapixel images out there.
Finally, resolution does matter, but pushing it too far is not beneficial to you. Extremely high resolutions are only worthwhile if you are printing large copies.

Do you have one? Or maybe anyone with Android, is there a program I should download that will let me set the LED? Example, when I'm charging the phone, you can't tell if you have messages unless you turn on the screen.
But overall this phone is just godly

Not sure about stock versions, but I know a couple phones can implement different colors, frequency, etc. once rooted.

Okay nice, haven't rooted it but I'm using Lightflow lite and it seems to work pretty well.
Cyanogen looks pretty sweet, I'll look out for that.

So you actually got a GNexus?
.
Atrix 2 ain't bad, you'd want to get your own microSD card. Hopefully Google's acquisition of Motorola will make them speedier with software updates :L.

Not sure if you meant me or bhends but I got mine today, yes. Really liking it so far.
How do you copy music on yours? Do you use a syncing program like Winamp? I started to drag and drop but that seems like it's going to take a while.
And Atrix 2 is a sweet phone too, a buddy of mine has that on AT&T

In all honesty, I probably should have just gotten a Nexus One when it came out, I thought that was expensive at $529 unlocked...
But I decided to wait for quad core, and I'm waiting, and waiting, and waiting ... next Nexus will probably be quad core :L.
Ever heard of Google Music?

Google Music uploads all your music from iTunes or whatever into the cloud, and then you can pull the songs down OTA onto your GNexus :L.
