Agreed
As a concept, the Nexus Prime is amazing. The king of Android. Galaxy Nexus is a let down TBH in terms of specs and hardware.
ICS looks amazing and I hope it'll come out to GSII

Re: ICS and Galaxy Nexus
No HDMI and USB on-the-go?
Personally, I don't like the design that much. The backside camera looks f'ugly and I don't like the bend as seen from the side. Galaxy S2 looks way better but it's nothing to be proud of. It looks like an iPhone.
Sony Ericsson has some good looking phones. They should take some advise from them when it comes to design. The Sony Ericsson arc is the best looking Android phone IMO.

Nexus line of phones are not meant solely for entertainment, its a developer phone
I have the Nexus S and I love it, I use it to develop apps for android and it works so well
plus updates come much sooner

Re: ICS and Galaxy Nexus
What constitutes a developer phone? Seems pretty lulz to call it a "developer phone" if it doesn't support the universal standard for transferring HD content between devices.punkfusion1992 wrote:Senor Penguin wrote:No HDMI and USB on-the-go?

Re: ICS and Galaxy Nexus
Nexus phones are the best because they get the updates first and they have no bloatware and are pure Andriod Experince.... the Specs are a little lower the SII but they are more then enough for ICS....and even though the camera is 5mp.... the timeplase, no shutter, photo/video editing and panorama makes it awesome....
and NFC beam thing for Nexus....hands down the best thing about the devies other then ICS

The NFC beam could be used to transfer HD content in the near future without a wire.... if it possible to transfer stuff phone to phone... then phone to other NFC devices will be here soon

"In the future" ... Couldn't they just have gone with DLNA? As far as I know, that supports HD streaming.imalegend wrote:Senor Penguin wrote:What constitutes a developer phone? Re: ICS and Galaxy Nexus
Aren't the specs on Galaxy Nexus inferior to Galaxy S2? Plenty of phones come carrier free, too. And thankfully most of these have had their bootloaders cracked by the XDA devs!beatrixasdfghjk. wrote:Updates first.Senor Penguin wrote:What constitutes a developer phone? in terms of software yes... but they had to lower down the Specs.... no way would Samsung want to make their premier lineup Galaxy S be overshadowed on specs by Nexus.... they already have a HD version of S II coming out in Korea soon...
right now...
Nexus- Premier Software Cellphone
Galaxy S - Premier Hardware
Iphone - Gaming

They had to lower the specs because there was trouble clocking the CPU up to 1.5GHz by the time it was scheduled to be released.
The Galaxy Nexus is still their phone.
Higher clock cycles do not necessarily equal higher performance.
And admit it, everyone loves barometers

the RAZOR and SII HD get released next month around the same time as Nexus and they both have 1.5Ghz......and they both have 8mp camera....and might be getting ICS by the end of the year/Jan next year
Nexus phones have never the Premier Hardware phones but always have the Premier OS phones

Re: ICS and Galaxy Nexus
What do you mean?
Nexus One, Nexus S both benchmarked highest at the time of release.
Droid Razr got completely overshadowed by the Galaxy Nexus, paid any attention to the tech news recently?
Like I said, higher clock cycles do not necessarily equal higher performance.
Anyway, the Droid Razr runs OMAP 4430; Galaxy Nexus is on 4460. Both are clocked at 1.2GHz.
And the SII LTE HD is running a last-gen Snapdragon core

Re: ICS and Galaxy Nexus
Oh yeah, and the sensor matters more than the megapixel count.
Who's going to blow up a photo to poster size anyway?
All megapixels would do the average user is increase the image size.

Re: ICS and Galaxy Nexus
Android is just the operating system
It's the hardware manufacturers like HTC and Samsung doing the phone releases.
