Mission Impossible IV: Ghost Protocol
DUDE!
Ghost Protocol!
I've seen the screening yesterday and the movie is absolutely, totally, ultimately AWESOME!
In fact, the word "awesome" was created in a parallel universe from the future and has been given to us for the awaiting of this glorious pinnacle of human endeavor. And to be so lucky, to see this awesome and UBER cool movie is an experience YOU SIMPLY HAVE TO HAVE! (the author is in no way guilty of any subliminal messages your psyche might interpret from this message)
Seriously, None of the previous Missions come anywhere near this masterpiece (yeah, this is really a masterpiece).
I've seen it in IMAX cinema and the experience is truly worth your money, I wonder why people make 3D movies anyway - give me IMAX over 3D anytime The open spaces come to life as nothing you've ever seen before on a screen.
The CAMERA is AMAZING! The camera and electric department is a great team composed of individuals who have experience working with some of the biggest titles you've ever seen - Pearl Harbour, Pirates of the Carribean, X-men sagas, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Armageddon, Transformers, Twillight saga, 2012. People often forget that a movie had awesome compositions simply because the movie was bad, but some of these titles are really good in terms of camera and so on.
VISUAL EFFECTS were just amazing, the team that worked on these is also stunning (you will see this pattern repeating as I go through the departments). Titles as Harry Potter, James Bond, Pirates of Carribean (again), Star Trek, Rango ( ), Terminator (Salvation), District 9, Curious Case of Benjamin Button, also X-Men, Superman Returns, Captain America, Iron Man AND LOTS OF OTHER AWESOME MOVIES!
SPECIAL EFFECTS: Saving Private Ryan, Tropic Thunder, Live Free or Die Hard, Robin Hood, The Patriot, also Pirates of the Carribean and so on...
Sound: Slumdog Millionaire, Cars, Iron Man, Avatar, 9, Wall e, Toy Story 3... And the list contains so many well known moives that if you think of any good movie you've seen - it's gonna be on that list
AND NOW, THE LAST (in my review), BUT MOST CERTAINLY NOT THE LEAST (drumrolls), LADIES AND GENTLEMEN (who am I kiddin' this is a football forum, there's no gentlemen here, or chicks) THE DIRECTOR:
Mr. BRAD BIRD
Brad Bird is well known for [(now check this out) clears throat] - CARTOONS!!!
Yes, apparently the guys who handle the movie budget (producers J.J.Abrams, Bryan Burk, David Ellison, Jeffrey Chernov and co.) thought it would be a great idea to put the 4th part of the Mission Impossible into the hands of a guy famous for cartoons And how SPOT ON were they (a round of applause for this rare display of ballsiness in Hollywood, thak you).
This guy directed The Simpsons, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Up and the Iron Giant. How this guy managed to create such a brilliant movie is beyond me. Congratz Brad
The acting is marvellous. This movie was a great reminder of how Tom Cruise is actually a flippin good actor.
Overall, this movie was an amazing adrenaline ride with no stupid parts that would ruin the experience. It was a great throwback to the action/agent movies of the 90's, and is the best movie in the Mission Impossible series.
Now people often leave a message to the readers after these sort of reviews, but I ain't gonna. I ain't gonna tell you how you should definitely see this movie, I'm just gonna say that anyone with at least a tiny portion of self respect is gonna do themselves a favour and enjoy this classic [(IMAX experience reccomended) there should be some kind of an affiliate program for IMAX cinemas, I'd make tons of money ]
Anyway, ADIOS!

Re: Mission Impossible IV: Ghost Protocol
I watched it earlier today. It has awesome action and breathtaking stunts. But the plot is a little weak and there are some corny scenes in the end.
Surprisingly, there is a lot of comic relief too...

Simon Pegg
Yeah, imagine if Simon Pegg's role got casted to someone else. It could've been a backfire of huge proportions. This way, Simon does another wonderful performance, and he portrays his role just the way it should have been.

Very good film, I just watched it. That scene in the Burj Khalifa was terrifying and brilliantly done.
That actress in the team is beautiful too.

Good Film.....Asensen kneejerjed a bit with OP tho.......I was expecting brilliant.
I think it got a little too emotional at times for it's own good.

I share the same sentiment.
Overall, the film didn't meet my expectations. However, the Burj Khalifa sequence was absolutely fantastic.
Saw it in IMAX.

Re: Mission Impossible IV: Ghost Protocol
Went to see it with the girl yesterday and, while i it was a kick arse film in general with its fast paced, frenetic action, beautiful locations and strong cast, i also felt the ending was somewhat anti-climactic, like it deserved a bigger bang to go out on than it produced. Still, Pegg as the comic relief was good and the film moves by at a steady pace, so you don't even realize it's just over two hours long
Despite my undying hatred of Tom Cruise, i can't help but like some of his films and this (along with the entire MI series) is one of them. Highly recommended, go see it NOW

Re: Mission Impossible IV: Ghost Protocol
My observations from this film:
- Spoiler:
- Tom Cruise runs like a mentally challenged individual.
- I don't get why the villain jumped with the briefcase. Maybe he was trying to prove a point, but seriously he could have just thrown it.
- The girl's breasteses when she is in the dress are breathtaking

Watched it few days ago, Great movie, but not ZOMGASDASDIJWJ@AD
Was entertained throughout, but like lex said, ending was a bit too soft.
Great movie nevertheless

Only good thing about this movie was the gadgets and it was in 3D. Other than that, Tom Cruise has a great PR team...
