Marotta puts away Juve chequebook
Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has warned fans that the club won’t be making any big game signings during January.
The Old Lady have been linked with a number of new elements, but the club official has eased expectations.
“The club made some significant investment in the summer and I don’t think we’ll be making any more,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“Saying that, if there are some opportunities, like Andrea Barzagli last year, then we’ll look to take advantage of them if we can.”
Centre-back Barzagli, 30, joined the Bianconeri from Wolfsburg for an initial transfer fee of €300,000 as he had less than six months left on his contract.
While Juve may not buy after Christmas, they are expected to sell – starting with unwanted striker Amauri.
“We spoke to him last week,” Marotta said of the reported Tottenham target. “He wants to find a new club as soon as possible. We just have to find the right buyer.”
The former Sampdoria director also again denied speculation that the outfit could sell Milos Krasic after he lost his place in the first team.
“At this moment in time he is not demonstrating the value that he has, but he is a strong player and he’s proved it.”Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has warned fans that the club won’t be making any big game signings during January.

Re: Marotta puts away Juve chequebook
our game vs Roma asked for a player like Diego, if only he had been given the same chance like Krasic by Beppe ,
or is it cos he didn't sign Diego but he signed Krasic so he was eager to be rid of him.....

Krasic was signed before Diego left and Diego left because Del Neri felt he could not function as an SS, the same day Diego left, Quagliarella joined.
This game was SCREAMING for Giovinco.

We only need montolivo and a leftback(cissokho would be a dream but caceres would do just fine!)

We needed some composure...game was too eratic! Vucinic or ADP would have added composure for sure :shisha:

Re: Marotta puts away Juve chequebook
the thing is that ADP would have slowed down the game and the fast transition from defense to attackinderbaby wrote:Luca wrote:Well of course him too, even Alex should have been utilized in my opinion.

In the formation yesterday, Pepe and Estigarribia do the exact same job, that would be fine if there is another striker next to Matri but both of them + only Matri up top = failure

Utterly true Luca if Mister continue playing like this we will soon loose Thats why im fed up with pirlo he was awfull yesterday and he is the one holding up that ss we need upfront.
If Mister wants 2 play a 4-5-1 wich it clearly is then he needs 2 get the likes of C. Ronaldo and Messi for the wings that wont happen so he needs to shift back 2 his 4-4-2 and kick some working fighting spirit back into Pirlo or simply stop playing him

Re: Marotta puts away Juve chequebook
Pirlo is necessary, but with Matri a second striker is necessary. Even with Vucinic played as a 'winger' he was more of an out and out striker, he was much more important than some were giving him credit for.

Re: Marotta puts away Juve chequebook
Vuci can handle that role but he is the only one of our wingers who can (maybe Elia) but Vuci should get the chance 2 play alongside Matri not running around him

Re: Marotta puts away Juve chequebook

Re: Marotta puts away Juve chequebook
It is, with Vucinic healthy or Quagliarella in the middle.
Matri cannot do it, even Vucinic in the middle would do better.

4-3-3 could work but then u need to play 3 strikers upfront not attacking wingers and one striker cause thats not 4-3-3

Re: Marotta puts away Juve chequebook
Not necessarily, Matri just needs a striker next to him, even if it is Vucinic from the wing. Mirko drifting in and out is deadly. Quagliarella is also a much better alternative to Matri is a lone striker must be played.
Pretty much Juventus cannot play Estigarribia and Pepe in a 4-3-3 if Matri is in the middle.
Estigarribia/Pepe for one spot
Vucinic/Elia/Giaccherini for the other
Matri/Quagliarella in the middle
Vucinic-Matri-Elia would be amazing to see
Estigarribia-Quagliarella-Elia
Vucinic-Matri-Pepe -> Conte's preferred attack
you get the idea, Juventus needs a certain balance up front

Re: Marotta puts away Juve chequebook
Once again Marotta does not surprise me at all. Fine I guess we shall wait to June for more champions. What happened to him saying in the past that more big names(quality players) will join? We need a farking LB!
Anyways Montolivo seems done, no money spent.
What about CB and LB ?

Quaglirella up top alone is best, Matri needs support, meaning from another strikers and also wingers. Grantes yesterday, Vidal did hardly anything to support Matri for his current for role in the 4-2-3-1. Pirlo not his best, but you saw Quags had two chances in less time than Matri did the whole game he was won.
The best thing to do is a 4-3-3(4-2-1-3)
Pirlo - Marchisio
Vidal
Elia - Quags - Vucinic

The 4-2-1-3 does happen, Sadly Quags and Elia don't .
