Kritik Richtung Poldi

Klopp: "Godolski is a God, but he doesn't always call upon all his talent. - With all his talent and godliness he should be the best striker of the Bundesliga, but in his graciousness he allows others to have that title. He is too expensive for us to only bless us with his best every few weeks."

Godolski: "That's quite provocative of Klopp, perhaps he is sad I refused him twice. Then again, he has a point, I'm too expensive for BVB because they have no more CL revenue, since they finished last in their group I can understand I'm not worth the expense."

I highly doubt he'd go back to Bayern or that Bayern would take him back, especially when Reus is at a similar price-point.

Well, Schalke are contenders, too. They actually admitted being interested in him. ^^

Schalke have the advantage of being around the corner of Cologne, though. He wouldn't even have to move away from his hometown, and knowing how deeply rooted Poldi is in Kölle, that might be an important argument for him.

What is Podolski looking for? If it's CL football, them i'm guessing Schalke will have the best chance of signing him. But if it's a big club, with rich history, amazing fans, incredible stadium, and talented teammates then Liverpool is the best choice outside of Germany.

Well, amazing fans & incredible stadium works for Schalke, too. Talented team mates... Imagine Poldi playing together with the Hunter and Pukki (provided Raúl really leaves, which would be a sad thing IMO), that attack would be win, too. Big club? In Germany, Schalke is the second biggest club after Bayern, IIRC. The only thing going against them is their problem obtaining the salad dish Very Happy

Well I believe Poldi got frustrated with Koln because he wanted us to get into Europe, and for a while this season it didnt look like that would happen. Buts its not certain he will leave. And remember that Koln have a game in hand, against Mainz in tuesday, and if they win, they move into 6th. If Clemens, Jajalo, obviously Poldi, etc keep performing well and we sign a player or two in january I could definitely see us getting into Europe and Poldi staying.

Really nice vid with Huntelaar doing the honors(start at 1:40 if you'd like). The Kop is outstanding, but S04 ain't too shabby.

So what's a more realistic translation? Very Happy

Poldi is definitely not going back to Bayern after we denied his Holyness.

Oh, the translation gave pretty much the intent of the little banter Very Happy

Here's the more boring close-to-the-source version:

Criticism directed at Poldi:

"Lukas is an extraordinary player. But I believe he is so hyped in Cologne that it is difficult for him to give his best effort regularly," BVB coach Jürgen Klopp told sky. "With his potential he should be one of the best, if not the best striker in the Bundesliga - but he isn't. That's because he doesn't put in his best effort each time. And that means he would be too expensive for us [as he only achieves his top performance] just for a few weeks [during a season]," Klopp added markedly.

Sardonic reply in direction BVB:

When confronted with the words of the black and yellow coach, Podolski immediately replied via Express [tabloid from Cologne]: "These are some charming statements from Mister Klopp. Maybe he is just a little sad that I already turned him down twice," Podolski retorted. "On the other hand he is right, though. I am really too expensive for the BVB, now that they lack the revenue of the Champions League. As they went out as last of their group, I can understand [they think] it isn't worth it," Poldi told the tabloid.
