Re: General match thread
loved the freekick when giggs and rooney both lined up and acted like they accidently went to kick it at the same time then one of the two lifted it quickly for a cross..
cheeky as fuh* wish someone would have finished that one off, would have been quite the talking point.

Re: General match thread
That was our 3rd win in 12 at Ewood Park, just shows the significance of that victory.
Pros- vital win. 5 points clear. Outstanding displays from our defence and DDG (who is just incredible right now- 4th clean sheet in a row), Rio's vital block on the 76th minute to deny a goal from Yakubu, incredible Valencia, well taken goal by an in form Young. 3 outstanding and vital saves by DDG just before HT.
Cons- posession without much penetration, especially 1st half- too much tippy tappy passing. rooney on the left didn't work, he kept drifting into the middle, leaving only Evra- making our left side null an void up until Young entered the pitch, and leaving Valencia as our only attacking threat. Jones I thought looked lost in the middle.
----------------
A special mention to the United away fans. I had to lower the volume at times because they were so loud. Incredible support and best in the EPL by far.
One game at a time, but I can sense that title number 20 getting ever so close.
Well done Manchester United.

That's a massive problem we have at the moment. Without cleverley we literally have no one to direct the business at the other end of the pitch. We dont play with an out and out striker and you need someone behind that can deliver final balls, which we lack. The inteligence of our forwards need to improve, we use the wings far too much and it si becoming to predictable.

Good win against Aston Villa. Not much to say, but Young needs to stop diving.

Re: General match thread
Good win. Good response to our defeat in midweek.
Well done to the team......except for Ashley Young, he needs to hang his head in shame. Needs to quit fcking diving, it keeps taking the shine off our wins.
We have to beat Everton next week...then draw v City, then beat Swansea at home and we're Champions. We can even afford to lose v City, as long as we win our remaing two games at home.
Cmon United.

Re: General match thread
Bunch of bottlers. Our shit defending destroyed all our great attacking play.
Hopefully this is Evra's last season with us.
We lose against City next week and the title is over. Simple as!
Scoring 4 goals at home and still not winning? smfh.

Re: General match thread
We'll beat City, mark my words.
No way will the players be complacent, they fully know what's at stake. They'll be right up for it!
I got a feeling we'll beat them.

Re: General match thread
v Swansea
Seemed like a pre season friendly, and understandable too, considering City's away win at NewC. It knocked the wind out of everyone involved with United at OT.
Stand out performers- Smalling was brilliant at defence. Young was MOTM.
Routine win, now onto the last game of the season v Sunderland away. Let's round off the season by adding another notch to our fantastic away record in the league....and hope for a miracle that QPR hold out v City.

Re: General match thread
It's what we set out to do. If we do end up losing the league, which looks more likely, then at least we'll know that we lost it on goal difference, making it even more frustrating...
