Been a fan for ages, but tbh I've been disappointed by this season.
Dexter needs to come back with some of the edge it had in the Trinity and the season with the Prado brothers. I honestly don't see it going back to that level.

Prado brothers? LOL that was the worst season in my opinion.. I think this season is pretty damn good.. Once again I think they built it up a little too slowly though.. I feel the seasons always really heats up around episode 8-9 lol

- I think this season's been pretty good.
Always liked Edward James Almos as an actor and he's been very good as a villain. Refreshing to see from his role in Battlestar Galactica, where he's too much of a protagonist at times.
As for the slowness, I think that's become a byproduct of the seasons peaking two early, as was the case with seasons 3 and to an extent, Season 4. I see nothing wrong with the slowness of this season honestly. We're still guarnateed an awesome finish.
His sister has always been one of my least favorite characters and La Guerta used to be one of my favorites, but it's completely opposite now. One can't catch a break and the other is simply put, a biatch. Pretty good switch imo
Overall, I think we know more about Dexter this season than we have in any other imo. It's rather bad overall for the show because it signals a definite end pretty soon, but at the same time, it's a bit satisfying.

- I agree, how he managed to untie himself in like 20 seconds was a complete joke. Its pretty obvious what happens now, Dexter gets Travis, kills him...end of season.
I'm personally more intrigued about the Louis storyline.

The problem with this type of show is that you know whatever situation dex gets himself in.......he's not going to die and he's more than likely always going to win
However in previous seasons there has always been the pervading threat of his idenity coming out........not sure if that's Louis' role but it's pretty ambivalent at this point and there's 40 mins left in the season.
And on top of that they just introduced some Freudian incest bullshit in the 2nd to last epsiode of the season, how could that possibly help?
I expect an overly rushed , scrambled and incoherent finale , because they are going to have to come up with something really special to tie everything together.

- The whole Louis thing is setting up a story for next season. He knows about Dexter somehow, maybe not that he's related to ITK but I think he knows he lives a double life. I'm trying to think how he could've found out and the website he sent Dexter to comes to mind. Maybe he can see Dex's searches and has been tracking him. Also in the latest episode Masuka sends Louis to the evidence room for filing or something. He might find something else on Dexter or ITK in the finale, but the storyline is basically just starting. We're going to have to wait 9-10 months for it though.

- What do you guys think about the brother-sister love? I think it would be a very odd turn for this show to take but I doubt anything will come of it, I found Deb's dream a pretty big waste of time.
The DDK finale should be good, Dexter's escape was silly, I am more curious as to what will happen with Dexter's boat and how that will implicate him.
The ending with Louis is just such a cliff hanger, I definitely think that it is something that will carry into next season as well. I also hope that somehow LaGuerta gets *bleep* over and or murdered somehow haha

Although.........I don't like the direction they're moving in with the Dex/Deb relationship.....mostly because it would only tend to move towards some wied ritualitic form, since she knows his secret.
Honestly, I think it goes against character.........the show has set a precedent in the past whereby Dexter kills any threat to his his life......Deb now presents a threat.....my assumption is that she will be killed at some point in time, but that may very well be the case.....either way i can get over it.
I didn't like this season..............there was a sense of irony in almost every word said by Geller/Marshall and Mos Def......I don't killers who are performing some sort of religous task.(other than Kevin Spacey in Seven ).....it just seems a bit too contemptuous and contradictory for my taste.
The Louis kid is a solid charachter........although i doub't he'll be the major villain next season........the true villans in dexter aren't traditionally revealed to be so until near the end.......he was introduced at the start of this season and his villany has already been hinted at.They should give him a decent backstory....and make him a part of the overall plot but don't expect him to carry the season.
I don't like Lagrueta being nice to Deb.....her remaining a bitch is essential to the survival of the series and the world.
I don't like Batista being a bitch.........
Still waiting for something that is anywhere near season's 1 and 2.
I now have no idea what to watch until Mad Men comes out in March.
