He's improved. All the chances he used to mis in previous seasons, he is banging them in now for fun.
Will be more enjoyable seeing him doing it for RM or Bayern next season. Let LFC enjoy him for now

Re: Luiz Suarez
Not really. Messi has done it but not Ronaldo. Suarez so far is on 58 minutes per league goal. Last season Messi scored every 57 minutes so "he's in" but Ronaldo never got under even 70 minutes per league goal. Btw excluding penalties Ronaldo never got under 90 minutes per league goal. Just saying.Blue Barrett wrote:As crazy a form as he's been on, its even crazier when you realise Messi and Ronaldo have been doing this for about 3 years now.
Btw I don't say Suarez is better or anything (as I don't care).

Has no chance of joining Arsenal. People are seriously deluded if you think Liverpool will sell to a rival, we're not Arsenal where we just get rid of our best players to "cash in". Been banging it on for months, even before the summer started. He won't be sold to another team in England. Even if he puts in a transfer request, and City out of no where offer 80m+.
Liverpool has never sold their best player to another team in England when they had a say in the matter. Torres was only sold to Chelsea because of a release cause - not because we wanted to sell to them. Liverpool would rather let Suarez contract run down and practically lose him for nothing, than to strengthen another team in the league.
Anyway, 11 games this season, 17 goals. Will he make 30?

That 40m and £1 bid should haunt us forever. Should have just given the £50 like they wanted. Would have been a bargain. Oh well, good for Liverpool that they kept him. Hopefully he stays

Betty La Fea wrote:Guess my post in the premier league thread can go here too:Betty La Fea wrote:I think Suarez should keep the armband even when Gerrard comes back too.
Suarez, despite how terrible of a person he may be, is a winner. He demands it not only from his teammates, but himself. I use to hate the way he would chew out his teammates for failing to make the perfect pass. Especially the way he would dig into Sterling, but I saw the way he handled himself today. He dug into himself multiple times for being bad, and was the first one to congratulate his teammates for doing things right. He is a natural born leader.
He should be the captain for here on out.
No chance. And this is from someone that's seen him lead Ajax from the age of 22/23 and wanted him to captain Spurs before the game. I do agree, he is a natural born leader but so is Gerrard. And he represents EVERYTHING what Liverpool is about, both on and off the pitch.
Suarez and Sakho are probably the best "leaders" at the club after Gerrard, but Steven should always wear the armband when he's played. Suarez said it yesterday in the post match interview, he may have wore the captain today but it was "just another game [for him] and Gerrard is our captain".
Luis Suarez: "There's only 1 captain at Liverpool & that's Stevie. This gives us confidence for the rest of the season."

Re: Luiz Suarez
the truth is as much as i would like to see him play for Arsenal or Barca , I hope he stays at Liverpool. Losing him would be a big step backward as even with 60-70 millions to spend they won't find another one like him right now.
This is actually the best chance for Liverpool to be back from the shadows they are in since 2008/2009.
When does his current contract end ?

To put Suarez's form in perspective, he's currently scoring 1.55 goals per game. Messi's best season he had 1.22, Cristiano = 1.09 gpg. #LFC

try to remember a few months back. Suarez was banned, the outlook wasn't nearly as bright on him and his relationship with liverpool as they are now.. And the conversations were basically, "50m and a transfer request and well sell him".
Suarez basically begged to leave, but we put in a borderline insulting bid just short of what you wanted and that killed the conversations. Had we bid 50m, with all things considered, like the ban, suarezes attitude, and this taking place before the insane amount Spurs got for Bale, etc.. lm sure he would have been sold last summer
however thatll never happen now of course, no matter what we bid. Bridge is burned.. but l don't think before the attiude was that the very idea of him being sold to Arsenal was out of the question.. we just bottled the discussions horribly

Go through my posts a few months back.
The only people thinking that Arsenal was getting Suarez were Arsenal fans. We weren't ever going to sell to you guys. Not for 50m, not for anything. He pushed for a move, for a Madrid, not an Arsenal. The Liverpool board told him that if we didn't make CL last season, we'd let him go if a CL came in for him, one that DIDN'T play in England. There's a HUGE difference.
You didn't bottle no discussions, you were never IN the discussions. In fact, I actually respect Arsenal a lot more after the whole summer thingo. Your stupid negotiations pretty much burned all bridges of him moving to ANYONE, so I thank Arsene for that. I'm certain you missed out on your key targets because of your pursue with Luis too. You got lucky Ozil had no bottle to fight for a position at Madrid, and wanted guaranteed game time at Arsenal to get his services lol.

Suarez scores 1.55 goals per game if we don't include the cup game against Manchester United but of course it's up against Messis record in all competitions?
Makes sense to compare league form only as Suarez doesn't play CL. Messi scored 1.44 goals per game then and he scored a goal every 57 minutes compared to Suarez 58 minutes per goal. Of course Messi got 4 goals from penalties so without penalties Suarez scores slightly more goals than Messi but it's really close.
