By the end of the project, the collection of football memories will be published as an e-book and also in print.

Martin Greig, from the Football Memories project, said: "We want this to become the biggest-ever collection of football memories and we are inviting fans from all over the world to submit their top memory.

"All senior clubs in Britain are listed on the site, along with leading European clubs. However, if fans wish to submit a memory from a club which is not listed, they need only put the name of their club at the top of their 'Memory Box' and, after they submit it, we will add it straight away."

The website will allow users to learn more about Football Reminiscence Project, where Alzheimer Scotland trains volunteers to lead discussion groups about football for people with dementia. They can also find out how to donate, volunteer and fundraise for the project.
