Udinese - AS Roma
Might as well get a thread going. So what do you think fella's,can we get a win here?
I know Udinese have been in a great run form this season but they were brought crashing back down to earth against Parma yesterday. If Parma can beat them I'm confident we can.But we must be more clinical in front of goal because we can't rely on our defence to see us through this one.

switch totti with lamela. put lamela on the right and osvaldo on the left so they can both cut inside into their stronger foot
and maybe switch ddr/gago, but that's all down to preference. IMO i prefer derossi higher up the pitch

Re: Udinese - AS Roma
Udineses defense should leak too, im confident that we will have lots of chances. But finishing them is another story.
Objective: Mark DiNatale out. Dont give away cheap freekicks. Finish our chances.
Id still play Totti as a striker. I want to see him in shooting positions, because no-one else seems to know how to finish.

Re: Udinese - AS Roma
It will be almost impossible to mark Di Natale out of a match these days. Better defenses than ours have tried and failed utterly this season.
That said, it's their midfield that worries me. Badu and Asamoah are beasts in the middle and are very energetic. Pablo Armero and Isla are also huge threats down our flanks so Rosi and Taddei/Angel are gonna have a big task on their hands to keep the Colombian and Chilean quiet, which is slightly more possible, but a lot less probable than with Di Natale.

Well the way we play the forwards always switch positions through out the match...
I prefer lamela as the AMF though he has the ability to ghost past players with his skill and pace..
De Rossi is better for that role.I know have said in the past the he should play further forward but Gago isn't as good as him in that position. The game against Lecce proved that even though it was against a weak team..

Even with no Totti I still believe we can win.I'm just hoping LE sticks with the same starting 11 that played against Lecce..

except no Bojan this time please!!!
Lamela to play Bojan's wide-right role. Pjanic to play Lamela/Totti's central role. Perrotta coming into start in center midfield alongside either Gago or DDR

Totti left training early due to pain in his ankle (the one that he injured back in 2006). More info should be available tomorrow.

Re: Udinese - AS Roma
Roma boss Enrique rates Udinese
By Football Italia staff
Roma tactician Luis Enrique has admitted that he is a fan of Serie A rivals Udinese ahead of Friday’s Serie A meeting.
The two teams will clash at the Stadio Friuli tomorrow night and the Spaniard respects Francesco Guidolin’s Bianconeri.
“I admire Udinese a lot and the way they play their football,” the former Barcelona B boss stated on Thursday afternoon.
“It’s different to what I believe in, but they can create chances with just three touches of the ball,” he added.
“We’ll look to play the way we do. If we can keep hold of the ball then that will create problems for them.
“I’m curious to see what we’ll be able to do against a side that is so strong. I want to see how hungry my side are against Udinese.”
Roma are fifth in the standings, five points behind the leaders, following the 2-1 win over Lecce last weekend.
“Nothing has changed for me as I don’t look at the League table,” continued the former Spanish international midfielder.
“We’re just concentrating on one game at a time in an effort to improve our own performances. We have to try and learn to defend and attack as a team, with everyone involved.”
Enrique has some selection problems given that forwards Francesco Totti and Marco Borriello have fitness issues.
“I don’t know how the captain is feeling. We need to evaluate his condition. It’s the same situation with Borriello. They didn’t train yesterday. I’ll still have other options if they don’t feature.
“Juan? He’s still not at 100 per cent and he needs to improve. It’s a shame as he’s working hard, I’m just waiting for him to be ready to play a full 90 minutes.”
Enrique was also, inevitably, asked for his thoughts on the fact that Daniele De Rossi has still not signed a new contract. His present one expires in June.
“The De Rossi situation is a peculiar one, but I won’t talk about his contract,” Enrique noted.
“The club are here for that and they already know what I think of him as a player. He’s a Romanista – 100 per cent. I’m just focused on picking the team.”

Guidolin’s terrible Roma record
By Football Italia staff
Udinese boss Francesco Guidolin will be playing against history when his side entertain Roma on Friday evening.
The two teams meet at the Stadio Friuli in Serie A tomorrow night and the Giallorossi don’t bring back great memories for the tactician.
“I haven’t looked at the statistics, but it seems to me that Roma are always a hard opponent for me to digest,” the former Parma and Palermo man stated on Thursday.
Guidolin is right. As a Coach, he’s faced Roma on 25 occasions at his various clubs and his record is pretty poor.
He’s lost the last six games against them. His overall record currently stands at five wins, four draws and 16 defeats.
“Roma are a side who are improving,” Guidolin continued. “They have a good style of play, a good mentality and some important players.
“Add in the fact that I think they are the opponent that I have collected the least points against in my career and we know it won’t be easy.”

Roma lose Totti and Borriello
By Football Italia staff
The injured Francesco Totti has been left out of the Roma squad for Friday’s Serie A match against Udinese.
The club captain was expected to return to action after spending the last month sidelined with a thigh strain.
However, the veteran picked up a left ankle problem in training on Wednesday which has ruled him out of the Stadio Friuli clash.
The injured Marco Borriello has also failed to recover in time to make the trip.
Squad: Curci, Lobont, Stekelenburg; Cassetti, José Angel, Juan, Heinze, Kjaer; De Rossi, Gago, Greco, Lamela, Perrotta, Pjanic, Simplicio, Taddei; Bojan, Caprari, Osvaldo.

Re: Udinese - AS Roma
The attacking display was a joy to watch last weekend. Obviously the strikers need to be more efficient infront of the goal.
It will be an extremely hard match. But i would go for a Roma win. 1-2
