Iker Casillas: Real Madrid target Sergio Aguero is one of the three or four best players in the world
Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has issued Atletico Madrid star Sergio Aguero with some hefty praise ahead of a potential cross-town move, before adding that it will be tough for the Argentine join his side.
Speaking at a press conference, the goalkeeper lavished the Argentine with plaudits, claiming the 23-year-old is among the best players in the world at this time, which would rank him near teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, and Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi.
"Right now, Aguero is one of the three or four players who are a little bit higher in the world of football," said the Madrid skipper.
"He is very young, determined and talented. He is being followed by many great teams."
However, despite the Bernabeu being touted as the striker's most likely post-summer destination, Casillas remained cautious over the likelihood of the deal, given the clubs' fierce rivalry.
"I do not think it would be comfortable or easy [for Aguero] to make a move in the Spanish capital and go from Atletico Madrid to Real Madrid."
Even without the Spanish sides' bitter history, finding any club willing to part with the cash to pay for the the young hitman's €45 million buy-out clause remains a major factor in any potential summer switch.

Question: If Madrid pay the release clause, can Atletico refuse them, from a legal standpoint?

Pretty sure once the minimum fee release clause is reached they must allow him to be sold, although they may end up paying more money because of taxes I believe not sure though.BarrileteCosmico wrote:Question: If Madrid pay the release clause, can Atletico refuse them, from a legal standpoint?

Interesting phenomena, isn't it? Player linked to a certain club suddenly becomes "top three or four" in the world according to that club
We had Rio sucking up to Nasri a few days ago, now this

From a legal standpoint they cant, but they can declare the deal as hostile and a whole new level of sh*tstorm will unfold, getting us into a judiciary mess trying to avoid paying the taxes.
We are working them from both sides, RM and Aguero's, to get them comfortable with the idea. At the end of the day i think if we sign him, we will pay the clause

Perhaps he meant that Aguero is one of the fifty three or fifty four best players?

All Arsenal fans want him to go to Madrid so we can sign Karim Benzema.

I'd rather keeping Benz and don't wasting 45 million $ on Aguero.

So, it's bye bye Benz then? He was great this season, why are Madrid wanting Aguero? They got 2 young great CFs, (Higuain and Benzema) what will they do with another one?

Re: Iker Casillas: Real Madrid target Sergio Aguero is one of the three or four best players in the world
Really really don't want Aguero.......
Between Adebayor, Higuain & Benzema last season they had a total play time of 5910minutes.
That was only because Higuain was injured for a long time as well.
If we have 3 fully fit strikers one or most likely two are going to get shafted.
It just makes no sense.
I would take Morata over Aguero any day of the week, especially considering Aguero is going to cost 45m (alot more if hostile) plus his 7m-8m in wages
