Yes, CB/LB should be Barça's top priority in the summer, however Thiago Silva is likely to cost more than €30 million for Barcelona as well as being used solely for squad rotations.

I don't think we're going to go for a CB unless he's exceptional. Pep thinks that if we're going to go for a squad player then we might as well promote. The problem with this is that Pique ever gets injured we are seriously screwed, so Muniesa better live up to people's expectations...

Awesome news, but I can't see Pep giving him the same amount of play time as Keita. If we sign him, I'm sure he'll spend most of his time on the bench, which I'm not sure is a good thng.

We certainly have to go for an world-class CB as a priority, I completely agree. I know Loco Bielsa (and del Bosque) have used Javi as CB with mixed outcomes but for the right price I believe he can be useful, AFTER we sign a CB/LB of course.

Regarding Biglia, I remember him in Independente where he had a fantastic season as well as his performances for the U-20 Albicelestes, but I'm not quite sure if he can adapt to a top European league after spending the majority of his career in Belgian league. And he is not that young either.

What is the point of buying THiago Silva when we have promoted 2 central defenders from the reserves. They will have to loan these players out as they surely won't be playing at all with Silva there. I can't see the Silva deal going through at all... Afellay to stay for another season to improve his game then sell him for big money and promote Tello with Roberto as well. Keita to go as well with 5 million to our banks! Villa to go as well soon as his time has finally gone.

Thiago Silva would be nice but is very unlikely. If we can't sign him, we already have our CB replacement: Bartresi.

Yeah, I'm liking Marc Bartra's performances more and more lately, so I'm starting to hype him up by calling him Bartresi.

Well I hope we can accommodate all of these players as they have shown their class. I would like to see them regularly perform at the end of the league season as we have already lost the league (or most likely anyway). Can wait to see again the class these players show!

Getting T. Silva isn't impossible though. Isn't AC Milan late with their yearly Ibra payment? They probably want at least 30/35 million. If you include those 8 million they owe Barça and add Keita to the package (who they are eyeballing, apparently), we might be looking at 10/15 million euro's to actually pay them. Not too bad.

If Barca makes an offer for 30/35 and Millan turns it down that’s all.
And Millan would most likely turn such an offer down. But anyone paying 50 or 60 would be unrealistic IMO.

It would have been previously ridiculous to ask for such a price, however the market has changed.

Nowadays purchases are usually very astute or somewhat inflated, and it can be agreed I am sure that Thiago Silva is not going to be available at a bargain price; certainly we wouldn't part with him to make 10-15 million euros.

In the middle of European economic recession I would be really surprised if any non-Arab financer pays that amount for a CB.

I don't expect any such offer to arrive, however it's irrelevant in that our club's perception of his transfer value should be based upon his worth to our club, irrespective of the offers we might receive. Frankly I'm happy if the only bid that a rival could muster is one we shouldn't accept; I don't see any reason why Thiago Silva should ever leave for another European club. He's set to be our Captain in the near future and he's the rock upon which our project to ascend to the top of Europe is being built. Selling Silva would be mean undermining every other step we've taken since we started reversing our decline from our last time as the Champions of Europe.

All has been said. Other than that the amount mentioned by the BiasedMilanFan is absolutely ludicrous obviously. Barça would be mad offering more than 30/35 million, considering Thiago's age and all. He would be a good buy for Barça, but he's probably too important for Milan to let go. So it's only logical they aren't willing to do so unless he actually hands in a transfer request (which he probably won't do). But who knows. Although I do see a reason for him to want to leave (to reply to dostoevsky). Prizes. Let's be honest, Milan is obviously going up but Barcelona are not just no. 1 in Europe, but the best in the world. Currently, there isn't anything better out there. But he's getting a lot of deserved props in Milan so it would very much be understandable if he stays.
