Re: Italy vs uruguay
Sepi wrote:Uruguay's four-goal hero from Friday, Luis Suarez, will miss out on the encounter with Italy on Tuesday, despite recovering from a minor muscle strain sustained in the last World Cup qualifying clash.
The Liverpool striker was in sensational form before the weekend against Chile, scoring all of Uruguay's goals in a 4-0 destruction of their South American rivals which put Oscar Tabarez's team at the top of the Conmebol standings for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The coach, however, confirmed on Monday evening in Rome that Suarez would not play a part in the next fixture, as the discomfort which forced him off the Centenario field early proved enough to convince the ex-AC Milan coach not to risk him in this friendly.
Suarez's place will be occupied by Sebastian Fernandez, with the Malaga forward partnering Edinson Cavani up front.
The introduction of Fernandez is one of three changes made for the Italy match. Benfica's Maxi Pereira starts on the right of midfield in place of Alvaro Gonzalez, while Porto's Cristian Rodriguez gets the nod ahead of Gaston Ramirez.
Thank God.
Goddd dammit !!
I know its good news for u sepi, but i really wanted him to vs italy.
Ahh well will be a great game nonetheless

Great no Suarez... I wanted to see Ranocchia vs Suarez and Chiellini vs Cavani...
Oh well, still going to be a great game... tobad without Suarez, the game's hype will sink abit.
I see Italy winning this.

Badlyyyy hahaha
But i dnt know why people think it will be a walk in the park now i mean surely forlan will replace suarez, and forlan has always played well for uruguay.
Although not sure if e was selected or not hopefully he was as the tougher the match the better.

Re: Italy vs uruguay
Uruguay has done basically nothing, but is still leading. If the second half is gonna continue the way the first one went, Uruguay should be very pleased getting away without a red card and at least 1 goal conceded. Still, they are defending well though.

Re: Italy vs uruguay
I thought Uruguay's tactics were disgraceful, they dragged the discipline into the gutter.
Points I took from the game were; 1. No more Ranocchia, ever! They can rather bring Favalli out of retirement. 2. Osvaldo is useless, needs a hundred attempts to do the one thing a strikes should know instinctively how to do, score! 3. Not as bad but Maggio is not up to scratch at Rb.
Balotelli was an enigma as always, deserved a goal. He is also played extremely well when he dropped off into that left sided AM slot. Pirlo and Marchisio were phenomenal, but Monto went absent.
De Rossi coasting somewhat, we all know he can play much better.
It was a bizarre ol' game, which looking back on it, baffles as to why the Azzurri did not win.

I hear you man, I hear you. To me they are both great players but actually have the same problem: they both struggle to find consistency.. But I would say Aquilani is definitely the form player of the two at the moment.

Abate and Aquaman would have killed this one.
With Cassano for this game we would have won easily, so sad for Antonio:/.. Cassano-Ballotelli would murder Catenaccio-Uruguay.

I'm not. I still thought the Azzurri played a great game, were it not for Osvaldo's poor finishing and the guilt-edge Balza chance they would have won the game easily.
