France is better without Ribery
Once again, he was useless during most of the match, altough he created a good chance in the first half.
Remy was way more dangerous and scored the winning goal.
On the match itself it was a routing vitory, we controled in the first half and started to attack well in the second. I found the american team a little disappointing, they were there only to defend and obviously lacked talents. Their players are in the other hand well disciplined and run a lot for their team.
It was a nice match to try the players. Debuchy and Mathieu were quite good, expanding our option for fullbacks. Gonalons made his first app in the NT. Martin was again a good sub. We play better with him in the middle than with two strikers. We need this central creative midfielder.

He was, but the americains did not pose a big threat. He made some intelligent faults to prevent dangerous moments. With Mexes out there is a spot to take even if Sakho is a serious competitor.

Re: France is better without Ribery
I watch all the NT matches too OLPower and have been doing it since 1981. And you're extremely biased here... Ribery is necessary to France NT right now if we have any chance to compete with the elite. The problem is the midfield... we have absolutely zero creativity there. M'Vila-Diarra was bound to fail because, frankly, Diarra has no business playing given his crap form right now. Because of the midfield issues, we're counting on good defense and moments of brilliance by our forwards to get us through... and we're undefeated in the last 16 games. Last time we had such a run was in 2006. Don't look great; but very effective.

The real problem with that team is that Blanc still has got no clue about how to get that team going, that's the real problem. He hasnt been the most competent coach. He needs to move on from dreaming that Gourcuff and Diaby will be good again, they are non factors atm. And Diarra sucks, for the nth time he doesnt have the level of the NT, Lass is way better than him, it's not even funny.

Ribery is the most important Player in France and Bayern Munich, because he a had a decent Game doesn't mean his not important..

he hasnt been good with them in ages, always looks average at best.
Most important players for France are M'vila and Benzema, the team is about those two, the rest are movable pieces.

Re: France is better without Ribery
Ribery has not been good for France in years, he has 2 goals in the last 4 years and the last 25 matchs. The joke has to stop one day. Remy is much more a threat than him.
I disagree with Nick on Blanc, he is doing a good job. He is making mistakes like playing Diarra who does not have the level, and like including Ribery and Evra in the squad as they are more negative elements than positive.
But overall we are much stronger than under Domenech. I feel we can do something at euro.

Blanc is doing what a coach is supposed to do, but he has given no identity to his team whatsoever, the line up changes a lot, the tactics change a lot, i am not very impressed at all

I think he was totally right to try out new players as this is the last selection before the call up for euro, I believe. He is also fighting against injuries.

Really surprised by some of the reactions here, good result, of course, but France's starting XI was really mediocre for me today.

Re: France is better without Ribery
I would say uninspired and this is just logic for me.
Blanc tried to partner Gameiro and Benzema but it did not work since nobody was providing them with the ball. We played without creative midfielder and Ribery under performed seriously in his left side.
When Martin came in we had a playmaker and he assisted the goal minutes after.

Re: France is better without Ribery
We only played 5 of our starters... M'Vila, lloris, rami, ribery and benzema. Completely experimental by blanc and he's right to try things in a friendly.
Again, we lack creativity in the midfield. So it comes down to great defense and some moments of brilliance.
Btw, Menez is the French version of di maria... Speed and dribbling with a 10 cent brain. I'd rather start remy over him. And we need to play a 4-3-3 with a M'Vila-cabaye-Martin midfield.
