Re: Which team could afford Ozil?
Meh, this whole thing is a bit ridiculous.
I know one thing for sure though, if that was benzema's father speaking like that, this whole place would have imploded, sending benzema to hell and calling for the one true RM CF...
His dad is showing a lot of weaknesses, it's sad. He is put in a little turf of war with a player and his dad already openly speaking about the exit? 2 months in the season? are you kidding me?
If he feels that way and wants to go as well, he can go ahead, we will replace him.

Losing Ozil would be crazy.
Higuain/Benz will reach a boiling point at some point too as the "glamor" games are played.
Coentrao will also come into play next year if he's on the bench. Same with Varane.
Goes with the territory i guess.
I agree tbh, and atm it's a race between Benzema and Higuain, and I think the one who improves the most will in the end start. I'm actually OK with that, even though I'd prefer to keep them both.
Although Coentrao, I don't really give a fk if he goes. Losing Marcelo is a billion times worse. One has potential to become WC while one has the potential to become a football great...
Varane should have chose Man U, they are generally better at devoloping players..

@Czy,never really thought about it,very true.I think problems will come up,specially between Higgy/Benz,Sahin and Coentrao. They are simply too good for just rotation
I mentioned the Higuain vs Benzema thing last summer, and people said i wanted us to sell Higuain. It's a reality, simple as that.
Sahin wont have a problem. Coentrao will, if he fails to adapt to whatever role mourinho bought him for, he cant be playing second fiddle to Marcelo all his career. he is on a short term for me in this club. i thought there would be a RB experiment but no.
Even Varane wont have a problem, you can easily rotate 3 top CBs in a club. Pepe is in his prime already, so you know he wont be bitching. players in their primes might have problems with rotation, they see the bigger picture.

ozil leaving madrid?
we could count on babun wasting another of his 9 lives before seeing that happen.

Re: Which team could afford Ozil?
Benz would never, ever take anything public. Not his style. I could only see it happening if things weren't resolved behind closed doors.
When Neymar comes... add Di Maria to the potential list of discontent players.
I think significant turnover is unavoidable when you try an back up WC players with WC players. It never works frankly.

hypothetically sahin could have problems,he might never fully recover from his injuries or Mou opts to keep the Khedira-Xabi couple and uses Sahin only for rotationSt_Nick09_of_Goal wrote:Ganso wrote:gasperini lulz.......point is,ozil wouldnt work for man u.St_Nick09_of_Goal wrote:@Ganso, Sneijder playing CM didnt turn out too well for them, did it?

Also, more problems will come if eventually Nerman comes in July and battles for a spot with Di Maria

I dont see that Higuain will be the one arguing over his role. It all looks like Mourinho will pick Benzema for cruical games of the season.

Lol, if Di Maria and Coentrao complain, they can leave for all I care, though I dont dislike Coentrao yet, actually saying these things and bitching essentially ranks very badly professionally. Carvalho did it and things arent working out for him any more.

Re: Which team could afford Ozil?
sometimes i get a feeling mou wants him to use as a super bench option since he can play in any position in attack, similar to coentrao.I dont see him just "walking" into the starting lineup, even though hes better than di maria imoomarish wrote:Is it just me who thinks Neymar isnt coming to replace Di Maria?

not sure if kaka will stay at the club over the next season, consider that as well. we will see how it turns out at the end, no need to panic

Re: Which team could afford Ozil?
It is a bit weak from Ozil and his father frankly... you tough it up. You don't go public unless you absolutely have to. Benz had 100x the adversity and he fought thru with his mouth shut. Marcelo to a lesser extent. Higuain has been fighting his whole career here.
If you want to go.. fine. Make your point behind closed doors and then wait for winter or summer mercato.
This is just lame imo.

Re: Which team could afford Ozil?
"I often speak with Zidane. He tells me all the time: 'Mesut, you know what you're capable of. Go out there on the pitch and play your own game, just do your own thing out there," Ozil was quoted as saying by Kicker."Kaka is doing very well at the moment. So I don't play every single game. Jose Mourinho has explained that whoever is doing a good job is playing. "We have a lot of big names in the team and they all want to play. I want the same thing, though. I am very happy to be part of this Madrid and want to stay put for many years."

Re: Which team could afford Ozil?
And after reading the article, let me get this straight:
- He wants Ozil to be the key man over CR7
- He doesn't want Ozil to have to play defense
- He wants Ozil to be a guaranteed starter no matter what
I want to smoke whatever this dude is smoking lol...

+1
No free rides here, maybe a couple of years ago in our dark period but not before and hopefully never again..
If you're good enough you play, it's that simple. However considering Ozil said some good things about staying here for a long time just after the Lyon game I don't think him and his dad are on the same page.
Then again it could just be Mustafa is playing a game of chicken with the board to raise his wages or something.

My point precisely. If Ozil is scared to compete against Kaka, then he can take his talents somewhere else, there are young AMs coming up out there.
But it's not fair to say that about him, his Dad is the one moaning. I'm not even sure Ozil will approve to what his father said, that's the inconvenient when your parent is your manager i guess.
A player saying something like that in a mourinho team is a death sentence. Someone is going to be out of a job soon.
Isn't Sahin's agent managing Khedira and Ozil as well? i thought it was the case... Either him or Mendes will have a new client soon then, lol

But in the end this is ozils career not his fathers, and its impossible to find a club that will accept all of those terms.
He is playing for the best club in the world.
He is being coached by the best manager in the world.
He has the worlds best players by his side.
He is soon going to break records and win championships.
and seriously...Mr.Ozilsdad is complaining
getting the best for your son. and you want more.

His dad is not his agent?
Well this was a f*cking waste of time LOL
Just a parent wanting his son to play then, just like any little league ever.
