Which team could afford Ozil?
His father, Mustafa Ozil, is extremly discontent with Mou and Ozil's development at RM. He said in an interview that Ozil has to play second fidel for CR7 and do a lot of defensive work. It costs him a lot of energy over time. The second problem, Kaka starts over him for now, he is afraid that Mou will prefer short term success and merchandising (Perez) over Ozil's long term development. Therefore, he suggested a possible move for Ozil to some other big club (his father is his agent at the same time)
If he leaves RM then where to? Would RM allow the transfer to happen? I don't know what to think... Maybe to Fergie as Rooney's buddy or in an exchange for David Silva (Man City) ?

According to transfermarkt.de he is 32000000€ woth currently, less than Aguero but more than Snejder back then

Only a handful of teams could afford him. The question is whether RM will let him leave if he requests a transfer...

Re: Which team could afford Ozil?
he wont leave and if he does I think hes going to Man U
also didnt perez say that özil can be the best player in the world? he probably sells more than kaka now considiring how everyone was loving him last season... so i think hes perez favourite too now
mou also confessed that he tought özil played well yesterday, so he will get playing time again. özils dad shouldn't be so open about things so quickly, it's still early in the season....

Re: Which team could afford Ozil?
SAF is never going to change the 4-4-2/4-3-3 system, and Sneijder has the qualities to play as a CM unlike Ozil.Sneijder plays as a CM for Inter when they play 4-4-2omarish wrote:Ganso wrote:where would ozil play for man u?he doesnt fit their system, unless SAF pulls a great idea of turning Ozil into a DM a la Anderson :lol!:

4-4-1-1, i've seen fergie play that before... rooney at the top with özil behind him or use özil as a winger. or fergie can devolop him into a cm, it's not like he doesn't have the attributes for it.
if he goes anywhere i think its man u

Re: Which team could afford Ozil?
alex always uses a CF and he wouldnt be stupid enough to limit a player like Rooney to that position, hell,Rooney has even played as a CM in the last couple of matches,SAF is really reliant on that Rooney SS role in which only he can successfully play imo.Besides,he will never bench Chicharito/Welbeck

Re: Which team could afford Ozil?
I've always said that this rotation thing needs to be consistent and player feelings may change over time...
Losing Ozil would be crazy.
Higuain/Benz will reach a boiling point at some point too as the "glamor" games are played.
Coentrao will also come into play next year if he's on the bench. Same with Varane.
Goes with the territory i guess.

@Czy,never really thought about it,very true.I think problems will come up,specially between Higgy/Benz,Sahin and Coentrao. They are simply too good for just rotation

Re: Which team could afford Ozil?
Ozil's dad is no troll, he means business. Schalke didn't give him enough playing time at first, he forced a transfer to Bremen. In Bremen, he had a clause in his contract that he had to start games if fit. He is really concerned about his development so this situation is no jokeDoc wrote:His father is discontent in only Ozil's 2nd season at the club to which the season is still in it's early stage? Yes, this is going to be a problem. Ozil has nothing to worry about, the spot is his to lose in the long term. But Higuain and Benzema have an interesting contest to fight out, I wonder if they will coexist beyond this season. Coentrao... meh, I dont really know, maybe Mou is forming him to be our long term DM to play near Sahin in the future as Nick suggested once?
Varane though is a different story. Even if we assume he overtakes Albiol and Carvalho, he is still first backup to two great young(ish) CBs. OK, he will get plenty of time, but maybe he will not be as patient as Marcelo and Higuain is. His opening is really succeeding Pepe, who will not need to be replaced for another 3 years at least.
I think getting our squad in order with proper rotation and backups, with this clear progression and order of young players, is really important if we want (the 'Mou team' that is) to build a lasting legacy.

Re: Which team could afford Ozil?
Point is, SAF wanted him before we snatched him in transfer market. He already had plans Why would it be different now? Also, a versatile player like Ozil could fit in any team...Ganso wrote:gasperini lulz.......point is,ozil wouldnt work for man u.St_Nick09_of_Goal wrote:@Ganso, Sneijder playing CM didnt turn out too well for them, did it?
If not, you change the system because he is THAT good

Re: Which team could afford Ozil?
Meh, this whole thing is a bit ridiculous.
I know one thing for sure though, if that was benzema's father speaking like that, this whole place would have imploded, sending benzema to hell and calling for the one true RM CF...
His dad is showing a lot of weaknesses, it's sad. He is put in a little turf of war with a player and his dad already openly speaking about the exit? 2 months in the season? are you kidding me?
If he feels that way and wants to go as well, he can go ahead, we will replace him.
