Frankly, i'd consider it a success for France NT got out of the group stage at the Euro. We're rebuilding from scratch and, despite the talent, these things take a tournament to get sorted out. If we keep the group mostly for the WC... i expect more success there.

We have a chance at the Euro... just not very likely. Spain, Germany and the Netherlands are clear favorites.

I don't think it will be an easy game since away games can always spring up some surprises no matter how messed up the other teams are.

If we press them they can't do anything, even at home I expect victory but not an overwhelming one

I've thought this for last Euro and WC. In both cases I thought they had an easy group and wouldn't do much against better teams, but they have a habit of coming through. Wasn't it them that upset Brasil in WC? In any event I been saying it should be between Spain and Germany, but you also need the luck of the draw to have them remain apart until the final.

imo should rest ronaldo this game and bring him on from the bench. Even tho hes an athletic freak hes been playing every game mostly 90 mins for a very long time and could use some rest

That leaves Netherlands, Italy, France, England, Portugal perhaps, etc. that can all get either Germany or Spain. And since you have France in tier 4... you will very possibly have 3 top teams in a group.

Because of Ukraine and Poland, the draw is even more critical for Euro 2012.

Especially if both countries are very poor in terms of European NT hierarchy. I hope luck works out so you don't have a complete crap group and a complete killer one... it would be a shame frankly.

I agree, that's why you need a little luck as well.

With only 16 teams, it's too much to have 2 weaker countries take up seeds let alone tournament spots. It's not quite as bad for WC with 32 teams, but I do object to weaker countries getting a seed. They still could be given preferential dates and stadiums without needing a seed spot.

We've never won in Gerland. Lyon are always good at home so I agree with Sport here in that it'll be much more competitive.

i mean they have struggled to get any clean sheets this season, not really something to go buy, lyon in previous years have been our vodoo nightmare because of their solid defence, i cant say the same thing about them this year

kallstrom the guy who was going to pull this team up after juninho left, isnt really tactically good enough to deal with our midfield not to mention he is very slow, if they cant get a strong midfield ready come wednesday i wont be suprised if we win by another 4-0 margin

Also I really want Higuain to start this game. Lyon's back line leaves so much space you could drive a bus between their lines. Pipa is bound to score in those conditions.

Not my heart. I think Benz is a better all around player than Higuain (others disagree; no argument please lol)... Mou rates them evenly. It's Benz' turn. Expect Pipita around the 70-75 min mark. Not to mention that Benz has 2 goals and 2 assists in 3 games... so he's owning CL again.

Of course, it would be great to see them both playing together. But since we're doing that super-pressure scheme every game now, the starter will burn out early to mid 2nd half of every game pretty much. CF is putting in a lot of defensive effort for us.

finally someone else said it, ever since the hattrick's everybody act like higs is the god of goals, every time he kicks the ball its a goal or something smh, and benz play making,passing and finishing is below average so he should never start, sometimes i wonder who is got the more delusional fanboys
