Can't take Ramos from CB the way he has been playing, it would be stupid plain and simple.

As expected, they played tougher at home a bit... but really, lloris saved them from a 4-0 loss again as he was boss. Di Maria getting back in touch with his retarded self helped too.

We have a trend now of starting very fast and then tiring out by halftime. Our second halves are usually spent trying to manage ourselves. It will be interesting to see how we do once we're either tied or behind at halftime. Will we have the reserve of energy to maintain our performance?

Iker saved the team from drawing as well. The defense today was shaky, and I blame it on the lackluster performance of the full backs. Ramos and Pepe were all over the place picking up the slack of Coentrao and Lass.

Hate to say it, but Di Maria had a bad performance. Benz was awesome, especially in the first half. His touch and inter play with Ozil and CR7 were great. Should have picked up a goal.

Benz has become a supreme playmaker and passer now... i just wish Higuain would start next to him instead of Di Maria for a couple of games. If Higuain was at the receiving end of some of those balls... we'd wing by more than 5-0 in some of these games.

Di Maria keeps wasting the passing from Benz.

I too am worried about our new 'style' of intense first half and boring second. One day, that is going to blow up in our face big time. I would prefer if we dont do it and keep it steady all game.

So we are in the 16th after winning Lyon in Gerland, it's somthn' IMO.
I loved our performance tonight, we were so disciplined, so agressive and dertmined to win and this is the most important thing.
Other than that i didn't like our waste of chances repeated again again and again each time we build up a nice attack. We scored two goals from faults while we had the opportunities to put a finish to a nice mouvements. (Di Maria blew up some of them).
We have to work our finish touch before the net coz againt Cules we are not going to have as much chances of goals.

Othrwise, Mou's subtitution Albiol for Coentrao and putting Lass in RB was suicidal and crual in the same time but i just keep from it that José is finally convinced that SR4 won't move from CB (1goal in 7 matchs)

Now, let's move on to Osasuna and make sure that we face Far$a with advantage.

Efficacity is the enigma to solve by Mou. As i said, in big matchs u will have two clear chances to score and u don't have to miss them. We are Ok with our back line now we have an Armada ahead and we must focus how to use it to perfection.

Iker was great today but I can't wait to get me some Antonio f*cking Adan in the next game in the CL.

Lloris saved them from a 4-0 or 5-0 drubbing last night. Showed why he's considered one of the top keepers in the world. On the fk, cr7 nailed it and Khedira set the perfect screen. He was placed perfectly... And the kick was perfect. Kudos to cr7 on that one. Because ozil and Alonso were also on the ball, he had to play slightly in... Placement was so close that they could just pass it over the wall and in the opposite corner. Nothing you can reproach him there.

You obviously never watch. He saves Lyon consistently (like last night) and got them to CL single handedly almost last year. Immense with France nt too.

thing is that top class goal keeper rarely makes mistakes..

Also nothing to take away from ronaldo but lloris should have covered his post,he positioned terribly for that goal.He got it all wrong,first he misread the kick and moved alot to his left.


In such a close range and especially power dependant ronaldo's freekick you have to cover your first post.

According to your definition, Casillas is average then. He makes more mistakes than Lloris.

There were 3 guys on the ball on the fk. Ozil and Alonso could pass it over the wall in the other corner (no power needed) and cr7 can power it. Not to mention the khedira screen. That was perfect placement. Just a superior kick.

Actually I agree, Lloris made many crucial saves yesterday that would have meant a much worse result for Lyon.

Anyway good game, we finally have beaten Lyon at the Stade Gerland after oh so many years

Next up is to set a new record, go unbeaten [w/ no draws] in the CL group Stages. We would have broken that record last year if it wasn't for Inzaghi but alas we should manage it this time around
