Re: Liverpool's international watch thread.
It doesn't matter if our players play tbh. Our game this weekend is reschedule anyways. Just as long as no one gets injured.

I like that our guys are starting. Want to see them perform for Ingerland, so they can go and claim gold and glory at the World Cup

Flanagan didn't even get called up to the U21 team, much less the senior side. Jack Robinson did though, and apparently played at CB. I'll never understand England's international choices.

Good chances not taken by both Sterling and Sturridge. Good game by our guys in all honesty.

Re: Liverpool's international watch thread.
Sterling, Sturridge and Gerrard with very fine performances, Henderson and Johnson did all right, too. It felt nice to watch England with so many Liverpool players
And am not hearing about any injuries to any of our internationals, either.

Re: Liverpool's international watch thread.
this was the first time since 1977 there were five players from Anfield in the starting line-up.

Re: Liverpool's international watch thread.
So if we just buy Lallana and Shaw in the summer, and Caulker does end up joining and reaching his supposed potential, we can just appoint Rodgers as England manager as well. Will be a problem when all the players get little knocks before a friendly in mid-April or mid-October though, as England would be missing 2/3rds of it's starting XI.

Re: Liverpool's international watch thread.
So it is clear that Sepi was so lazy to create the Liverpool-Denmark matchday thread
So did all our players play 90 minutes, luckily no one got injured it doesnt matter anyways, we have got the weekend free

England should just make Rodgers its manager anyway, but would love Lallana and Shaw on Liverpool. I think everyone outside of Johnson had a good showing from Liverpool yesterday.

Re: Liverpool's international watch thread.
Was thinking about the potential impact of world cup on our next season in terms pre season preparation and freshness .
Mignolet and Sakho are subs , Agger Allen and Skrtel havent qualified ; Lucas Coutinho Flanagan Borini and Enrique are very unlikely to be selected for their NT squads.Have i missed anyone?
I cant see both England and Uruguay getting out of the group(Italy are dead certain to progress imo) . Even if England progress from GS cant see them getting past the QT stage at best.So Suarez is the only player likely to play deep into the world cup and he never needs resting.
So we should be in pretty good shape for the next season when the likes of Chelsea United and City will have to cope with burn outs and disruptions.

Re: Liverpool's international watch thread.
I don't think it's the games after the group stage that make the difference, it's the enough if you're involved in the first place. Like, the teams have training camps and friendlies before the tournament and then three games in the group stage, whatever games there are after that make up only something like 20% at most of the whole thing of playing in the competition.

Re: Liverpool's international watch thread.
@Art
Yeah mostly agree. But that 3 week gap(Knocked out in GS and final/3rd place) is massive in terms of resting and recuperating for the new season imo.
We can just give them off the pre season to rest rather than needing to rest them when the season starts.
PL starts on Aug 14th so just a month rest if Uruguay qualifies for Semi.

Re: Liverpool's international watch thread.
Not to sound like a downer, but unless Hodgson is replaced by a tactically astute manager I don't think any of the Liverpool lads are going very far in the WC. Uruguay has not looked good of late, and they'll have a very tough road if they even make it out of the group stages.
I think Mignolet has the best chance (Belgium are dark horses IMO), but again he's not the starting keeper. Sakho could go far too and that's who I'd be most worrid about, although he's not likely to be a starter either.

Downer? It would be great for us if England gets knocked out in group stages.
The more rest and pre season with the squad the better for us
