Kubala was actually voted our greatest ever player and won a lot.But he didnt quite win the big one.Still a legitimate claim.
Messi has a long way to go in his Barca career.He has won loads but longevity too counts.
Overall for his influence,dedication,longevity,passion and unique way of utterly dominating games I pick Xavi as our greatest ever player.

Wow you actually saw gamper play?

The guy played around 100 years ago(he lived from 1877 – 1930). I am not even sure if they recorded the games that he played. So how can you know if he had more ability than Xavi?

Loool @ comments. I also love Xavi. Hes the best midfielder in the world. I still think that some ppl just do realise just how good he is Hes just on another planet when it comes to controlling games, its such joy watching Alonso being his little pet in every El Classico He owns any midfield he comes across, well mostly...unless they pay very special tactics on him.

Apart from that hes also very good mentally I think, a leader, the man the team can rely on at any time, the maestro! If it werent for Messi, he could well have won the WPOTY award already! All hail Xavi!

Its as if before every big game he thinks in his head.
'I am the Boss,I am the man and you are not going to touch the ball'.
We had the best first touch thread and I had voted for Xavi and I think today proved why.
A sublime first touch before the Messi goal and I have seen him control that way multiple times before.
Similarly another exquisite first touch to set up his own goal.
A sublime performance that only he can pull off.No Santis player could get near him.
I know Messi is the best player in the world but I so want Xavi to win the Ballon D'Or.The guy deserves it.Messi can win it another year.
It would be a tragedy if the greatest midfielder of all time doesnt win the Ballon D'Or even once.
