Re: How do you rate Sergio Ramos?
He has won almost everything at club level (barring the champion's league and other european accolades) and has won everything at international level. He also has quite a lot of individual accolades like UEFA's 2005–06 All-World Defensive Player of the Year
With this in mind, he's 25... What more can be said about him. He is one of the best, and by the time he's in his 30s, he could be considered amongst the all time bests. I'm not saying he will, but both Maldini and Puyol have explicitly statwed that he is their natural heir... If that isn't a wealth of praise, I don't know what is.

Re: How do you rate Sergio Ramos?
Probably the best international fullback in the world, was easily the best full back at the world cup.
For Madrid he could play better has a tendency to brain fart every now and then but all in all one of the best tacklers at Madrid.
Despite the majority of play going through the left side of Madrid, attacking and defending, Ramos still consistently racks up the most tackles and steals for us. He led the way last season by a fair margin and is doing the same this season.
So far this season he is also second in interceptions per game as well, as well as leading alot of the other boards
His faults tend to reside in in over committing himself sometimes to a player or a tackle and either losing said player or picking up alot of fouls and cards along with it.
He is a fairly aggressive player which tends to hurt his overall game-play but it is also what makes him so good.
He is a player who's faults tend to be more highlighted than his achievements.
He is a great fullback, and I laugh at those who say he is horrible at going forward, smh, watch a game or two ffs.
If he was so bad (as most of you say) he would not of been the youngest player in Spanish history to rack up 80 international games or be the vice-captain at Real Madrid either.
Although I do agree his calling is to switch back to central defence sometime in the near future where I feel he plays a more natural game.

Re: How do you rate Sergio Ramos?
Much like Bojan when he was at Barcelona
I believe his looks play a part in his role at the club.
If Ramos was ugly as f**k, he would have been given the boot. Like Bojan, he was barely playing and barely impressing, he was just a good looking kid and the fans saw him as a lovable figure.
But hey, that's just my opinion and it doesn't necessarily get a whole lot of applauds but idgaf

Re: How do you rate Sergio Ramos?
Isn't best of the players in tactical sense, and is prone to lapses now and then, but good tackler, very strong in the air and on the ball.

Am i the only one who miss read the title at first glance as " why do you hate Sergio Ramos" ... i don't know why my brain would do that
I like his bully style of defending, he defends like a territorial Gorilla at times love it!

Re: How do you rate Sergio Ramos?
RMs weakest link imo.
Im really surprised how Perez and Mourinho dont bother to change the whole RM backline already.
Dont get me wrong, id take Pepe anyday at Arsenal but for an ambitious club like RM, they need to change their backline in order to compete with Barca.

You mean the same backline that only conceded 4 goals to Barcelona in 4 games back to back last season?
That's the same attack that destroyed what many consider to be the best defence in the world (Man Utd) in the UCL final
Our backline is fine, Carvalho hasn't got long left but that's understandable and he's prob been our worst link this season.
People need to stop over reacting and over generalising ffs

Re: How do you rate Sergio Ramos?
Well i rate him very highly. He has always been a terrific player for Spain. There is no disputing that.
He was pretty good going forward as well when he was young as i believe he created a record at that time for having the best goal-scoring ratio for a defender.
He hasnt been that extravagant going forward nowadays imo ,as he was a few years perhaps. Also as someone said there are a few lapses of concentration here and there from him.
And yeah he'd make a great central defender both for club and country.

Re: How do you rate Sergio Ramos?
He is very good at defending and going forward.World cup sums it up imo,Best RB in world cup by far.Rightly selected into fifa WC 11 too.
Re: How do you rate Sergio Ramos?
Has moments of WC play, usually for SPain NT. Very, very inconsistent at RB and gets raped fairly regularly. His temperament and skills are better suited for CB honestly.

that about sums up my rating
this
gets raped by every half decent winger, and i don't know where this "he's great going forward" comes from... sure he does physically get forward a lot (which is why he has the positioning of a brain damaged monkey), but his crosses are shit and his dribbling is about as useful for the team as ronaldive's
also holds the madrid record for most red cards... at 25

He has more steals than Pepe and Carvalho.
More passes than Ozil.

Re: How do you rate Sergio Ramos?
Most aren't hating. Just saying he's not the best RB in terms of defense, which is very true other than for Spain NT. He's great in the air and as a box presence... but doesn't overlap all that effectively with Madrid (i blame that on Di Maria actually).
But to be frank, the RB position is really weak in the world right now imo. There's Alves, Sagna, Ramos and then the rest. A lot of potential great players out there at RB... nobody that has really proven themselves yet. Maicon was on the list until the start of last year.

How is it kneejerk? kneejerk is calling Aguero the best striker in the world after scoring a hatrick against Swansea......
This is different this is an opinion gathered over time by the fact over the last 2 years he hasnt contributed hardly at all to the attack and defensively he gets raped by any half decent wide player......
Seriously the list of players that have got the better of Ramos is as wide as a 60 inch widescreen tv......
And unlike Alves and Marcelo we cant use the excuse that he contributes to the attack because since Mourinho took over and even before than he hasnt and still continues to be defensively poor......
Need's to be moved to CB asap imo......

Most tackles, steal, interceptions and blocked shots last season for Real Madrid despite starting late due to injury
Yup defensively poor .....
