AS Roma - Atalanta

Time to get our first win at the Olimpico.

Atalanta have been in a great run of form this early part of the season had they not being deducted points for matchfixing they'd be top of the table.I'm sure Brighi will be out to prove a point against us.

Juan,Stekelenburg,Lamela and Pizarro will definitely be out for this match..

I would expect Kjaer and Burdisso to be re-united again at the back but once again, who knows for sure? If Gago is fit, he may get a chance to start in the place of Perrotta. And Bojan-Borini-Borriello is still up in the air, just like the rest of the starting 11 really.

Good luck with Atalanta... they've been on fire. If it wasn't for thier deducted points, they would be in first place. They dominated in Serie B, and now surprisingly in Serie A. They have won their first four games, undefeated. Thier squad is amazing, full of youth players including the likes of Cigarini and Schelotto, former U21 players who have proven to be national team candidates. I believe(except for Inter) this will be Roma's toughest opposition. Let it be known that there will be more open space I believe as Atalanta will go on the attack, so for LE's tactics to work out in this game, they should be no problems. All you need to worry about is creating oppurtunities. Expect high intensity and energy by Atalanta, Roma need to becareful with their pace and counter attacks if they do defend. All Roma has to do as well is make sure they contain possesion.

This time though, I doubt Borini will play. Expect Bojan to start this time.

ddr should keep a close eye on maxi morales.. he us just 5.3' but he has some gifted feet.

reports about stekelenberg returing this weekend are flying around so thats another boost.

how is brighi allowed to play against his parent team? shouldnt he be matchtied or something... having said that i'll be happy to see him play cos i dont see a guberti situation here.

It'll be another close match decided by one goal. If we though Siena gave us problems on the counter, Atalanta will do it times 100.....and they can actually finish their chances.

The game being at home doesn't mean much honestly. We've been as shaky at the Olimpico as we have been away from it.

Alright Roma fans, I'm getting tired of waiting for Lamela to get fit enough to play, how much longer?

Id like to see a 4-2-3-1 here. Witch basically is 4-3-3 when attacking or 4-5-1 when defending.

Perrotta picked up a knock the other day. It shouldn't be too serious, but he may have to sit out of this one.

oh cmon, not even during 05-07? he was probably the highest scoring central midfielder in the world during that period. he was a key player in spaletti's tactics

Say what you want about the guy but when he's in the team he works his ass of.That's one thing I admire about him.I think we'll miss him badly this weekend against Atalanta because Pizarro won't put any pressure on the opposition...

i am going for a win here, i see us winning the game by two or more goals.. Atalanta have been flying high but we should be able to burst their bubble with the experince in our squad. I am going for a 3-1 or 2-0 to Roma.

p.s.-- counter attacks should be stopped at all costs.

we're doing rather well so far, none of this passing around the back bullshit. we're defensively sound as well. we had more chances than atalanta
