Manchester United: £100m+ profit, £330m+ revenue
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-14741758
They are a money machine. Will probably be a strong title contender every year for decades to come.
As comparison, a year ago Arsenal's annual revenue was £224m, Chelsea £204m, Liverpool £185m, Manchester City £125m.
Manchester United has reported an annual operating profit of £110.9m.
Total revenue rose to £334.1m for the year to the end of June 2011, up £45m on the previous year. Commercial revenue rose to £103.4m.
The football club is preparing a partial flotation on the Singapore Stock Exchange to raise up to £600m.

Re: Manchester United: £100m+ profit, £330m+ revenue
Man U? No way. Madrid had revenues of about 440 million in 09/10. Barca had revenues of 400 million... Man U was 3rd. Madrid was profitable as well. But the club's charter requires that most of the money be invested and they cannot sit on the cash. If it were truly run like a private enterprise meant to put money in the shareholders' pockets, Madrid could turn profits of 100 million+ every year. Probably close to 200 million actually. But it is not allowed to.
Madrid has been in the #1 position by Deloitte for 6 years in a row.

I wonder at what point you'll start having real differences in the league... I mean, if ManU make £100m more annual revenue now than the next best club in England, at what point it will start properly showing?
Will we see a future where domestic throphies are divided something like:
50% Manchester United
10% Arsenal
10% Chelsea
10% Liverpool
10% Manchester City
10 % the rest
?

Depends if the profits are reinvested, used to retire debt or simply distributed to the owners.

And then there's this... some clubs could care less about profitablity (Chelsea and City). All they look to do is maximize revenue so that they can straddle the FFP line.

Well profits and revenue, yeah.
It's a fact that if you've got more money than your rival, you will in the medium-to-long-term do better than them in sports.

If we had our own tv income, similar to what Barca and RM have, we would make way, way more!

No Crimson, our own tv deal would dwarf Madrids and Barcas
If we had the same percentage as the Spanish 2, it would be touching 2 billion. thats a percentage of a collective tv deal that, although keeps the non top clubs in a strong position, means the TV deal isnt nearly as high as the top clubs could get.
God knows what our number would be

Lol don't get so butthurt...
That makes no sense. IPO's are stocks. Stocks are debt. As in they have a maturity and they have to be paid back, with interest.
You're simply piling on more debt.

Does anyone have a balance sheet and income statement?
Or failing that, are they still in debt, even after making a profit of 100M?

Theyre IPOing 25% of Utd. Thats equity to shareholders. Not more debt.
