Would you sell Gerrard for £ 10-15m?

Anyway, we've signed Henderson and rumours about Adam are still there. Aquilani hasn't been sold yet. Somewhat confusing.
If we got an offer for Gerrard that's £ 10m+ / £ 15m+, would you consider it if you were in charge?
I absolutely adore him, but thinking purely business wise, his peak is over and chances are that after a couple of seasons he won't fit in our Starting XI.

ps. I'm not keen on selling him, just thought to ask what you lot think.

No, I don't want to sell him, just saying that - looking at our transfer activities - i'd understand if he got sold. We already have, like, 5-6 options for CM (Gerrard, Meireles, Shelvey, Spearing, Henderson, Aquilani) and argueably everyone of those could be First XI quality. Aquilani will probably be gone, but there are Adam rumours going around. I know some of you are thinking that we've got almost too many CMs, can't help thinking that someone is on his way out, especially if we sign Adam / don't sell Aquilani.

1) If he was sold during this window, he'd fetch far more than 15 million in my opinion.

2) He has had injuries, but on form he can still single handedly carry LFC.

3) There is no doubt in my mind that he will start regardless of who we bring in this summer. He has another good year left in him, after which I believe he will be rotated, but still have enough to give us.

Art. I think Henderson will be more of a RM, and don't forget Kenny used Raul on the left side 80% of the time as opposed to the middle.

Henderson said in an interview that Gerrard was the best player he's ever played against like back in September, will be interesting to see how they get on

Gerrard has the 2nd highest shirt sales in the entire England btw (After Torres when he was at L'Pool)....even in business terms and marketing terms it doesn't make sense.

frak No.....Gerrard is our idol....he's everything to the club. He's still going to be world class for another 3 years.

Where does this he is past his best comes from ? Just because he is struggling with injuries this season doesnt mean he is past his best . When fit he one of our best players against the likes of United and Chelsea .

I happily agree that Gerrard can still be our best player on the pitch, but I disagree that pondering such a scenario where Gerrard would be sold is purely a fail.


Cashing in on declining stars (which have got a couple of good years left in them, but only a couple) is good business and good business is what makes clubs successful in the long run - especially with the Financial Fair Play. Football, of course, is not only about good business but also about emotions and that, too, I take as a merry fact.

The Napoli performance alone was worth more than £15m in today's market.

Henderson, by all accounts, cost well over £15m.

No amount of money would be worth the emotional aspect of it... legends should stay with their teams, and vice-versa.

I wouldn't sell Gerrard at all, regardless of what they pay. Let it to be 10-15, to 100-150m.

Experience in the dressing room is invaluable . Would United have this much success if they had sold their aging stars like Scholes and Giggs . Arsene tried that formula and sold their experienced players now the end result . Arsenal are a bunch of bottlers .

Stevie and Jamie are what John and Frank are to Chelsea. all of them will retire at their clubs and go down as legends.

Anyway, NO! I wouldn't sell him. I didn't want him at Chelsea when those rumours came around a few years ago. I'd hate to play a Gerrardless liverpool. It wouldn't be right.

Steven Gerrard would retire & kick the ball for the last time in a red jersey & i would be there to see that in person . .that is the dream i live . .so for me this is something i would never be able to digest. . so a BIG NO! from my part . .he will play out his career & one day be the manager ! ! that is vision

More than that. Frank Lampard joined Chelsea in 2001. While Carragher & Gerrard are our lads.
