Watched this on tv, easy game but I was entertained
Excited about Khedira first goal
Ronaldo, Benzema, & Ozil showed a really nice linked up I think, good chemistry

Am I the only one who felt he played differently than he did last season?
He used to make a lot of final passes, but in this game I only noticed he made one of that (the chance that missed by Callejon iirc)
But he made the assist to assist passes a lot, some ended up as goals iirc and some as chances missed

Starters

Casillas - boss on the field as always since he's the biatch at home. typical performance.
Ramos - again, typical. mostly good. a couple of clumsy plays on defense.
Pepe - typical
Carvalho - i thought he wasn't that great. made mistakes and has generally lost a step
Marcelo - one of his better preseason games offensively. was actually making more wide runs this game and helped with the build up. he takes too many risks for my taste defensively and got burned a couple of times
Xabi - sub par for him. wasteful and had a lot of turnovers
Khedira - boss. this time, he was showing off his defensive skills mostly. but he score the first goal with a header assisted by Benzema
Callejon - made his runs and was generally effective. consistent playing throughout the preseason
CR7 - wasteful. missed two absolute sitters and then scored with an outrageous back heal. he wasn't being all that serious imo
Ozil - boss game for him as he had the space he needed. as we've stated, he plays more as a forward than a midfielder for a am. I wish he could start and play a little bit higher. But i liked his game. Made all those moves and passes we saw last year
Benzema - motm again. Two goals and one assist. Only thing that is now clear is that the speed is not there. He cannot create separation if he starts too far upfield. A shame. Otherwise, he bossed

Subs

Kaka - sucked
Higuain - wasteful and looked frustrated. he was making good runs but wasn't getting service. Missed a sitter and a couple of other half chances.
Di maria - outrageous assist and scored a goal. he was having fun out there
Varane - boss again
Coentrao - did his usual running up and down without really having a set position. typical performance for him
Nacho - did well mostly. he did play the only goal against onside. but those are always tricky... he was just trying to hustle.
Jese - showed off his speed. very fast. scored an easy goal on the Di Maria outrageous assist. very interesting to see how his Castilla season goes. seems like a keeper.

Not sure who else played.

Competition was really bad... so it's hard to take much from this game. Mostly a practice for Madrid.

I was mostly interested in Kaka, Callejon, Higgy,Coentrao and Castilla players. They've got a point to prove It seems like fail, pass, barely pass, pass and pass, makes Kaka look really bad from your description

Kaka is victim of his own high standards. If he weren't a former ballon d'or and getting the wages he is... i would rate him as a good backup. But he's lost a lot of his flair out there. He tries the same moves he used to pull off in his sleep and he gets blocked by even the most average of defenders. He needs to realize he just can't do the things he used to and adjust his game.

Most disturbing to me is his lack of work rate. Any player can control that.

This was a great game, I agree with most (not all) of sport's deductions. Seeing Higuain as captain was great though.
