Still boring... lateral passes, forward passes were few and far between and not very well executed.

Also, is he quick? because he looked slow as Sh!t getting around the park.

If he said he played poorly then I agree with him and I hope he shows me soon what all the fuss was about.

Honestly, if you lot are jizzing over his performance last night then you're all truly delusional.

sour grapes much? I never suggested Monto, that was Babun, I moderated him to suggest Marchisio instead.

Blah blah blah, I know the excuses already: 1st start in 6 months, lacks match practice, still lacks a bit of fitness..

As far as I'm concerned, he has had enough time to get fit and integrated and he was supposed to blow us away with his superior technique last night but gods honest truth I didn't see one stitch of it.

What I did see was a huge lack of confidence for someone who was voted player of year in his division last season.

Having said that though, my disclaimer is that I'm sure he is a great player and it will probably just take some time for him to get settled into the 1st team.

My problem is, how much time? BARCA ON THE 10th OF DECEMBER!!

Who said he had superior technique? it shows how little you know about him.

please, instead of assuming that he is the first coming of Pirlo+Redondo hybrid, go watch some dortmund games or dont pretend that you know about him.

we can beat barca without him lol, and he is not going to start against them anyway.

I think you were disappointed because he was hyped here so much that he seemed to be the next Redondo/Zidane or something.

He showed glimpses of his technique when he was running the midfield and not Xabi. I know you acknowledged he's great and but he will need a month or maybe even two.

I don't think he's close yet to be even considered for the clasico. I won't expect mou to even start him as he'll want the guys who are familiar with barca to be the starters.

His main purpose for now is to learn Xabi's role, be the link between defense and attack. Being in a new team with players you've never played with makes it tough. That's the main reason he needs that much time, he can be on form but you can't really get that cohesion part with the team in a few weeks.

I'm not gona lie, I would prefer if he were the "first coming of a Pirlo-Redondo Hybrid" Besides I actually never said we needed him for Barca! You lot at the start of the season were discussing some BS midfield that would have Sahin, Khedira and Xabi in midfield and Ozil promoted to the front 3.. or were you not part of that crew?

I'm also tired of being crucified for not watching him during his Dortmund days. I have "actually" seen him, I saw him last night and he was frakking MEH! My opinion, sorry!

im sorry but claiming that you didnt see the "superior technique" is a clear sign that you dont know much about him. your opinion your own, but dont make bs statements, it's the only reason i responded to you in the first time.

Frankly, in a 4-3-3, i prefer Sahin. He's very rusty... understandably. He actually has very good technique usually. To say that he's a highly technical player for a non-attacking midfielder is fair. You're just seeing him at 60% right now.

In a 4-2-3-1, Khedira is more suited because he's more of a bull and you need that if you're only playing two midfielders.

As far as Barca, we're going with a 4-3-3 with a destroyer... either Coentrao or Lass. Since Khedira has experience and has played very well against Barca, he is a much better option against them.

Because we're going 4-3-3, the forward combo is going to be very interesting. I'd go with Ozil-CR7-Benz because they are all multi-facted, can hold the ball and create. If we play Di Maria in a 4-2-3-1, then it's a choice between Benz and Higuain.

A lot of options. Good to be a Madrid fan right now.

If all are fit, we will go with the same formation we used during the supercup, nothing will change. Even the players now have reached a point where they want to punch barca in the teeth, and will work their asses off to press and defend as a unit. Finishing the chances we have can make a world of a difference.

For barca I'd use ronaldo-Benz-Di maria,and bench ozil.midfield would be sahin-lass-xabi.Marcelo at the bernabeu and coentrao at he nou

Sports, I hope you are right that he is at 60% right now, because based on last nights showing Granero looks a far more talented midfielder than him.

If we do go the trivote route I would like to see Coentrao and not lass. He can hold the ball and make passes which can be crucial. He can also go forward and backwards to cover for defense [marcelo] when needed without problems.

Sahin need to get back on his rhythm. it takes time for him to learn what Xabi does for us and what he's supposed to do.

He just came back from a bad injury, criticizing him on his performance against Zagreb is not fair.

But lass has been awesome recently,not just defensively but at passing too

The starting lineups for those two games were:

Game 1 - Casillas, Ramos, Pepe, Carvalho, Marcelo, Khedira, Alonso, Ozil, Di Maria, CR7 and Benz
Game 2 - Casillas, Ramos, Pepe, Carvalho, Coentrao, Khedira, Alonso, Di Maria, Ozil, CR7 and Benz

Of course, Carvalho is out, Ramos at CB and Arbeloa at RB. If Arbeloa is hurt, Lass at RB. Marcelo will be the LB if healthy and on form. Other than that, i expect the same lineup too.

Scrap 4-3-3 vs Barca. We want 4-2-3-1 imo.

Actually I agree he has been solid. But Dinamo made everyone look good ffs, 4 goals in 20min... With our B team. Imagine with Ronaldo there (:hungry:)

This is our starting XI... This is how we play everytime.... I don't see why Messi would rip us, I did include Pepe in there, so we should be safe
