That result against Barca did wonders for us. We went from potentially facing Bayern, Pool, Madrid or PSG and get knocked out in the round of 16 to being the favorites to make the last 8 atleast although you certainly can't discount a Lyon like fuckup from this team.

Atletico,  BMG, Porto, Sevilla and Leipzig. Doesn't look bad for us at all.

With this Madrid team I would not be surprised in the slightest if they lose to these teams

Not counting too much on the winter mercato. Pirlo got 3 months to get the best out of this squad and become competitive on a consistent basis. It's a decent delay. Better strategies, better awareness, better motivation... that's how his qualities as a coach will improve hopefully

Atalanta are useless.

Let's get it on record that Steve McManaman, after complaining about Gladbach for apparently 90 minutes, said that if they meet an English team in last 16 that English team will "walk all over them, Liverpool, Man City, they wouldn't stand a chance" facing "the level of English football".

Would love to play Gladbach, historical relationship. YNWA in two beautiful languages. Yes please.

While with Atalanta I can see them actually embarrassing us. Don't have that feeling with any other team, and I trust my feeling.

I am actually looking quite forward to see how Bayern does, with league matches in between games. The levels will drop between games now and Bayern will have to turn up imho.

McManaman it must be said has become the most insufferable English pundit there is on match commentary. Its come to the point his bias for British teams is open and constant whinging. Embarrassing given he's a Liverpool legend.


And Atlanta on their day can beat anyone but mentally they are prone to some odd lapses and choking so I would not fear such a team who likely will wilt when faced against a Top European team, more by in awe of the occasion rather than tactically.

I want to believe this but I'm unable to remove the nagging suspicion these clowns are just somehow going to do it again.
After losing twice to Shakhtar and while being overall pure trash.
But it also feels like anyone could win this this season, English team most favourited with the exception of Chelsea who I don't think are quite good enough, but who are not to be underestimated. PSG surely will have a go. Pirlo aka the Italian Zidane might win it with Juve while being complete trash too, who knows? And then defend the title twice lmao.

Lazio are a worse matchup for you. They love to play on the counter and their midfield is probably better. On the flip side, they have no depth, Immobile is good for one or two big misses, they play with a 3 man defense and their central defenders are terrible. It's just Astori and a bunch of clowns

P.S. They're also inexperienced. They almost bottled it against a 10 men Brugge

With no possibilities of drawing Barca, Atalanta, or Lazio, finishing first was a big boost for us. Only Atlético and RBL seem more complicated. Don't want to play Sevilla yet again, prefer Porto or RBL.
