Re: UEFA Champions League Knockouts draw
Giving a taste of their own medicine is he Mourinho? Pathetic
Would be ashamed if my RM resorted to that
Yesterday was an excellent game between two classy team compared to this lot
Wasting time, rolling into the field thought i was watching Alaves there for a moment
Dissapointed

Very proud of Atlético. The scenes towards the end could have been avoided but they absolutely rattled City. They looked like Athletic Bilbao this match not a team with close to a billion pound squad

It was typical Atletico when the going gets tough they start kicking out. Savic should’ve been sent off.
Good to see City mess with them. Foden rolling on to the field and Fernandinho going down 2-3 times was nice karma for all the bullshit Atletico’s been doing for years.

I don’t remember the last team to make a Guardiola side completely avoid playing out from the back the way they did in the second half.

Why are you guys spinning this in a positive light for City . They resorted to small team tactics because they were outclassed and felt the tie was slipping. This is not a good look especially after city players and fans were denouncing defensive tactics and anti-football tactics just a few days ago.

Why are you trying to romanticize the scummiest team of the last decade?
City always time waste when they have a lead against big teams. Them putting balls into the corner isn’t anything new.
Fernandinho taking the piss out of them was lovely. Cope harder.

City played like all teams do to win a tie... nothing wrong with it. Everyone does it. My issue was with Italy NT back in the day... they played like that from minute 1 lol. City; not so much.
I have no problem with it under the circumstances.

Re: UEFA Champions League Knockouts draw
Rare to see Pep team so negative n actually successfully defend with numerous last ditch efforts? Credit to Atletico, but still, fking love it they get frustrated n knocked out, just a complete thug team as usual despite the improvements in attacking football I guess I really thought Atletico would score from so many chances created, pretty bad luck n finishing, but they deserve none
Think many rate Man C, but this showing was so strange, but perhaps its a good sign they can play like this n actually resort to defending n time wasting to hold a 1-0 lead for so long, n for once none of the defenders or GK messed up?

A team known for kicking out, diving, time wasting, and pressuring referees all game long.
Let’s not forget their dreadful football 95% of the time.
Seeing City sit back and instigate them was an amazing scene in that second half. They had trouble building from the back. If they persisted and lost the ball Pep would be called a fraud for it. But he adapted yet the haters still have an issue. Gtfo.

City were getting sunk by the pressure but Atletico hardly created any clear chances aside from at the end. Their xG was lower than City’s today.

Re: UEFA Champions League Knockouts draw
Nobody likes Atleti. But after the shittalking Pep and his players made, it was ironical to see them play exactly the same way they were criticising a week ago
No wonder he took KDB out, and put Fernandinho in. Tactical sub to waste every little minute available
Oh and that melee was caused by Savic trying to drag Foden off the pitch and City players coming over with their pitchforks. Atleti played right into Citys hands there.
That's exactly what Atleti used to do to us when they had Godin and Costa. We learnt to ignore them and they gave up
Pep on the other hand
We owe it to world football to knock this pos out

Cope with what? Unlike you I don't have a dog in this fight
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the "best coach in the world " and his multi-billion dollar squad get outclassed, beaten from pillar to post, and resort to the same small team tactics they were publicly deriding after the first leg. All against a team that's barely clinging to the top 4 in La Liga.

The approach isn't the problem. It's the irony of it.
City were completely overwhelmed but kudos for making it through
Just find it funny how EPLs darling played like LaLigas black sheep despite talking about it with contempt a few days ago

Good trick with Foden rolling back into the field there though lol, all the drama was great n close calls from the Atletico chances, was so tense in the latter minutes... making up for the 0 goals I guess

Re: UEFA Champions League Knockouts draw
Atletico played a 5-5-0 in the first leg and had zero shots.
KDB was subbed off due to injury. Fernandinho coming on to form a double pivot for more defensive solidarity is something any coach would do. Especially given his experience in dealing with these situations.
Were City supposed to keep the 4-3-3 getting overrun and build from the back regardless? They did what they could to see out the game in the last 30 minutes. Atletico played like scums over 180 minutes.

I’ve been reading your posts for a decade to know you’re a pro Mourinho/Madrid fan. You aren’t fooling anybody. You’ll say whatever suits your agenda. If they lost playing naively you’d be the first to call it a fraudulent display.
Yes Atletico outclassed them with their grand total of 1 shot on goal over 180 minutes. Elite analysis as per.

And so surely Real wont get through yet another team like Man C n get to yet another final right? Assuming Man C v Liverpool in the final, pretty much the 2 two best teams over the last few yrs so would be good to see.

Liverpool Benfica on the other hand was much more interesting to watch.

I hope we get City-Liverpool. It’s rare to actually get the two best teams in the world playing a CL final. I think City will edge out Madrid, but against Liverpool I feel they’d lose.

"Atletico played like scums over 180 minutes." is hardly elite analysis either, and totally not biased at all There was nothing scummy about their performance tonight and they would've definitely scored with better decision-making/finishing. You also know damn well that creating danger goes beyond shots on target. For instance, the two blocked shots from close range in the second half were extremely dangerous and could've ended in the net with some luck.
And you're still missing the irony of it all. In a vacuum, there is nothing wrong with their performance tonight. But the fact that City players and fans told us many times that they're "better" than these tactics is what makes it deliciously hilarious for us haters

Good for them! That's how they play. City didn't have any shots either bar the goal. Neither in this game either come to think of it
bet he would've been subbed anyways. He added nothing useful to this game. A walking mannequinKDB was subbed off due to injury.
i hope you're proud at his "defensive performance " the only time you ever saw him was when he fell at every touch wasting 1-2 minutes every single time. Surely can't have been improvisation by him. Clear instructions by the bald fraudFernandinho coming on to form a double pivot for more defensive solidarity is something any coach would do.Especially given his experience in dealing with these situations.
like I said above, i have absolutely no problem with a team going full cattenacio to see out a game. I never criticised their style of play. Because frankly i dont give a shitWere City supposed to keep the 4-3-3 getting overrun and build from the back regardless?

You got that one right, alright pathetic
Atletico played like scums over 180 minutes.
You only just found out Atleti is a scum team. You probably needed a Ronaldo in there to stick it to them the footballing way and not the non footballing way
