and I think Spurs will get that goal, I don't think City beat them 3-1. 2-1 or 2-2 IMO.

3-1 city is what I'm l expecting. Not even sure about spurs getting a goal.

I'd rather pay £70 in a rainy Etihad stadium to watch Pep's City than pay nothing in pleasantly sunny Barcelona to watch the borefest that is Valeverde's Barça.Kebab wrote:I expect 1-0 or 1-1

I don't care if Barcelona win CL, they play pessimistic football like Zidane's Madrid. Would anyone remember them? I sure as hell won't.
Re: UEFA Champions League QF 18/19: Tottenham Hotspur FC v Manchester City
If Pep benches Sane, who always performs versus Spurs mind you, for David "I have never performed in a big European game" Silva or Riyad "cut in then pass the ball to Walker" Mahrez, then Sane should leave at the end of this season.

Stop talking this nonsense.
In the end what matters are trophies, the numbers. that's what people remember. Just like it does not matter if you score a tap-in or a beautiful goal, people will remember how many goals you scored.

Yh.
Pep got most of his team right IMO, i wouldn't have played Gundogan but it's not an outrageous decision.

Vernardo is hugely important. More than David Silva.

Man City team to play Spurs: Ederson; Walker, Kompany, Laporte, Mendy; De Bruyne, Gündogan, David Silva; Bernardo Silva, Agüero, Sterling.
This team will smash spurs lol

XI | Ederson, Walker, Kompany (C), Laporte, Mendy, Gundogan, Silva, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Sterling, Aguero
Subs | Muric, Stones, Sane, Fernandinho, Mahrez, Otamendi, Jesus
Thank god, He picked one of Fernandinho and Gundogan instead of going with both
Nearly perfect lineup. Only issue is I would have liked to have Sane for David and play Bernardo in the middle. KdB

Have a feeling one of City's goals will either come from a Mendy bullet cross or a lobbed Gundogan ball over the top.
Good lineup. I still would've started Sane over Silva and moved Bernardo to the middle.

What's up with Stones. Is it me or has he been out of favour in recent weeks? I get starting Kompany today, but I'm speaking more in general just something I've noticed.

No idea. I guess Kompany just brings leadership and will calm the lads down. And apparently he went with Otamendi due to Kane physicality, who knows
Stones-Laporte I feel is our best CB pairing.

Absolutely. Sané's lack of game time this season has actually been quite shocking, after how he performed last season.
I know a club Sané could join to be more appreciated tbh

No issue with Gundogan, he has played well and would rather play him in holding role than to play both Fernandinho and Gundogan together. Doesn't work with both of them against any decent team. Gundogan would literally stands around and does nothing. He offers nothing that KdB/David/Bernardo would offer.

You prefer him over Fernandinho then? Because i wasn't thinking both but more so that Fernandinho over him.

Fernandinho most likely isn't 100%, so I get why he went with Gundogan. Or maybe he rates the PL higher
Like Casciavit said Gundogan can offer those loop pass behind the defense that works great when he face a parked bus.

Do you remember his form last season from like late January to early March? He was looking like an absolute superstar. Someone you'd make the focal point of your attack and build the team around.
The potential is there, no doubt. I'd want him to go to Bayern and become the main man instead of unfairly being a rotational option at City ffs.
As long as Kovac leaves of course.

Issue is Pep, in his heart of hearts is too scared to play 3 forwards and a proper 433. That is why he keeps playing David and Bernardo on the RW.
Sane will start this weekend along with Mehrez

times have changed now buddy. its a bigger achievement to sit on the city bench than it is to play in the bayern first teamCasciavit wrote:Hapless_Hans wrote:Casciavit wrote:If Pep benches Sane, who always performs versus Spurs mind you, for David "I have never performed in a big European game" Silva or Riyad "cut in then pass the ball to Walker" Mahrez, then Sane should leave at the end of this season.
