I actually do, it means go ultra negative as he tends to do when it matters. I don't say anything that I don't mean or understand what I mean by saying it.

Emery didn’t tell no one to drop deep lol, we even started the 2nd half well for about 5-10 mins until Chelsea grew into the game and our lack of midfielders who can’t pass between the lines got exposed. XHAKA coming off and Ramsey running around like a headless chicken definitely played a part in us getting dominated in the 2nd half (as well as the introduction of Kovacic later).

But I wouldn’t blame Emery on that because he really lacks the options right now. If XHAKA and Torreira were 100% fit they will play together alongside Douzi and won’t lose control that easily.

You can't be that naive surely? The entire team suddenly drops deep and barely attacks suddenly off their own doing? Not because a manager instructs them to? Come off it.

I don't want to go too far with this because I get most Arsenal fans are positive atm as they probably should be but that 2nd half was classic Emery and anyone saying otherwise literally just are not educated enough on his history.

We didn’t attack because we couldn’t even get out of our own half man, we got dominated. I really don’t think he told the team to randomly stop attacking lol. But maybe I’m naive and don’t know anything so whatever.

You got dominated because you conceded control to them. What I saw is a manager was concerned with how easily they broke your lines defensively in the first half despite how many chances you created yourself.

He seeked to stop it and he did but conceded control at the same time, usually I'd ignore it and give benefit of the doubt but considering I've seen this man do the exact same thing dozens of times for previous clubs means ignoring it is stupid.

XHAKA was taken off because he is not fully fit yet, just like Torreira isn’t. He was forced to do this otherwise he would have taken off an attacker and kept XHAKA in if the plan was to defend the result. Later on he brought on Lacazette, an attacker for a midfielder, another attacking move. Where’s the part that makes you think he wantednto defend this result, to me it seems like the complete opposite, he wanted the win so much he couldn’t defend the result.

And that’s a negative thing for me, I would’ve very much preferred the draw, so it’s not like I’m high on positivism.

I mean I don't think anyone is expecting him to compete for league titles. I feel like most think he's a good enough candidate to compete for 4th and make a decent run in cup competitions. He would also be able to help add some organization to the team, both offensively and defensively.

It's still early days and he hasn't really done that yet. Either way, I kinda feel for him. Arsenal's team is trash. I don't think I genuinely rate a single player on the team. Their transfer window was absolutely awful and serious question marks should be raised if Mislintat and Gazidis are persisting with their idiotic additions.

I didn’t read the posts because i didn’t want to pollute my opinion, but i think Arsenal played a good game, at least in some bots. Scoreline aside there is a clear difference between Wenger and now, i feel the team has become overall more tenacious. However, there are a few individuals dragging it back for them, i don’t they are best fit for what Emery wants to do. Just my 2 cents.

Reaching top 4? Reaching top 6? EL win? EL knock out phase?

Is there anything that could happen THIS season that could cause you to want him gone? Or is this season completely a honeymoon?

Think he should still stay and have a few transfer windows under his belt if we don't make top 4 this season, or don't win the EL (which are the goals).
Besides that it is more about just improving our overall performance throughout the season.

A dealbreaker I guess would be if the team sucks ass playing football, losing plus/minus 12 games again, and we just about finish 6th again. But that won't happen.

I never doubted the quality of arsenal players.

Arsenal have a formidable attack. A good midfield and defence.

What i will judge him simply the ability to bring the best out of the players he currently has.

I am believer.

If Raneri can win the premier league with average players so can arsenal.

What if we get 80 points but still finish 5th?

We finished with 75 points a couple of seasons ago, which was the highest number of points ever for a 5th placed team. It would have gotten us fourth in any other season.

The top of the table is so much better than the rest of the league now that it's not impossible to do that again.

Measuring success on CL qualification on its own is not enough. Sometimes, you're just unlucky not to get in.

Even then, nobody can say that the defence isn't good enough, the keeper isn't good enough, and then set top four as a goal with anything less a sackable offence. That'd be stupid.

If we finish the season no better than last season, in terms of performance and points, then you consider changing managers.

The first touch and body position of player speaks more than fraudulent stats reported nowadays. Huge price of players mean nothing.

A player can be hit in one team while not so good in the other.

The only way he gets sacked in his first season is if we manage to finish below 6th, as it should be.

Still my expectations are a top 4 finish and/or Europa League title. Despite the losses in the first two games, I have faith that Emery can improve these players enough to achieve that. After that we can focus and further improving the squad with the lure of CL football.

It'll depend on how the season unfolds. If United prove to be as rubbish as they were today we'll have a chance.
