What do you think about Klopp at Liverpool?
Official Klopp Thread
Reus, Griezmann and Higuain... perfect combo in the attack imo.
Laporte from Bilbao to play alongside Sakho... brute force and smarts. Good combo.
Need a midfield general... my vote goes for Moutinho from Monaco. Still has a lot left in him as he's 29.

My fantasy Klopp targets will definitely include both Griezmann and Reus.

As far as I know klopp he doesn't buy superstars he creates them. Any particularly interesting young talent in Liverpool waiting to be unleashed?

Re: Official Klopp Thread
Ibe mostly. Has all the talent but he needs some direction for sure. Origi too. I think those two will really benefit from Klopp.
In terms of his 'fantasy targets'...since supposedly he's looking for a creative midfielder, a leftback and a keeper I would say:
Timo Horn, Ricardo Rodriguez and Sofiane Boufal/Miralem Pjanic.

You guys.
Didn't Klopp explicity tell you NOT to be after 'fantasy' targets?

Yes... Yes, he did.Hapless_Hans wrote:You guys.

If we're talking fantasy targets, Griezmann, Reus, Benzema, Pogba, Varane, and Neuer should do the trick.
If we're aiming for something a little less Fifa Career Mode, then I would suggest these:
Striker:
- Michy Batshuayi
Wide players:
- Leroy Sane (has looked quality for Schalke, could fit Klopp's system to a T)
- Anwar El Ghazi (looks like an exciting young prospect)
- Felipe Anderson (looks like an exciting young prospect)
- Lucas Moura (might be looking for more playing time)
- Andre Ayew (older and likely overpriced, but could do a job for us)
- Riyad Mahrez (bit flavor of the month, but could be a quality addition)
CAM:
- Max Meyer (more midfielder, could play wide)
- Ayoze Perez (more second striker, backup to Firmino)
CM
- Ruben Neves (could be the perfect foil to Can in a midfield two)
- Youri Tielemans
- Christoph Kramer (slightly more defensive option)
RCB
- Nicolas Nkoulou
- Jose Gimenez
GK
- Timo Horn
- Loris Karius

Really? Do you mean to start or as backup?
I can definitely see one of each come in in January, but I would expect them to be younger players to provide some (any) cover for Moreno and Clyne.

Backup. Don't you think we really thin in that area? While I also expect any incoming player to be young, I feel Klopp might even sign a player who got 2-3 years left in him.donttreadonred wrote:iftikhar wrote:I think Klopp would target a L/RWB as his priority

I feel like Moreno and Clyne have those spots locked up and for good reason. I think they're both good and Flanno will be back hopefully. We have other priorities imo.
There's no more a situation where John Glenson is always causing us to play like we're a man down, so we're good here.

Re: Official Klopp Thread
We have TWO functioning wing-backs. We don't even know if Flanagan will be back in December and to mention in what shape (physical and mental) he will be in. In short, we don't have ANY cover in this position.Don't call me James wrote:iftikhar wrote:I think Klopp would target a L/RWB as his priority

Re: Official Klopp Thread
I really am sick and tired of us buying or looking to buy back up players or any sort of depth.
The only BUYS I want is to improve the first XI. So if we ever really do sign a fullback then I hope it's someone better than both Moreno and Clyne.

Klopp pursuing Tello
Jurgen Klopp is pursuing a deal which will see his Liverpool sign Barcelona winger Cristian Tello The 24-year-old is a product of the La Masia youth system at Barcelona and has also been linked with a move to Liverpool's rivals Everton. Tello is currently contracted at the Nou Camp until 2018, but he has a release clause of £18m in the contract wrote:

With the caveat that I haven't actively watched Tello since the 13-14 season, I'm having trouble believing that we would pursue him for 18 mil.
Back then, he was a promising young La Masia product, who looked likely to develop into a quality Wide-Forward. Granted, it was the system that he was most often played in, but I always got the sense he was destined for a "Neymar" or "Ronaldo" role (goal-scoring wide-forward). While that would have been perfect for the 4-3-3 that Rodgers initially installed and (frustratingly) reverted to later in his tenure, I don't see that particular role as a priority under Klopp.
Perhaps someone who has watched him more recently could give us a better sense of his value and current role/qualities at Porto.

Hope not. Not good enough to walk into our starting XI and I'm sick and tired of depth buys. So, no thank you.

Not sure if you'll easily find a better RB than Clyne. Looks pretty good to me, and I'm not sure who'd be decidedly better unless you're angling for a couple of late golden fall years of Dani Alves, or Lahm or something.
Bellerin of course, but he's Bayern-bound.

Re: Official Klopp Thread
Clyne has been fantastic.
I think a fullback that can provide rest for Clyne/Moreno since I don't think it's prudent to rely solely on Flanagan and Randall as well as a CM (but maybe not, Can and Allen have looked fantastic so far). Maybe just a fullback tbh.

klopp hit or miss.
so after a full season in charge klopp takes Liverpool to 4th spot in the lge but by the skin of his teeth. after arsenal city manure and Chelsea all spend crazy money klopp was 10mil in profit. liverpools weakness under klopp is easy to see but is klopp to blame or is it down to his players.

you're back in the CL so mission accomplished for him
that said, I haven't seen anything tactically impressive about him at all
I think this is where you peak under him

Re: Official Klopp Thread
No way we'll peak when he's not even formed his own team properly. Great things to come. Hopefully he can can get his own players soon rather than relying on Rodgers scrubs to turn up.
Wijnaldum 6 goals 11 assists.
Mané 13 goals 11 assists. Player of the season
Matip: Made out defense better than Arsenal while being free.
I have 1000% faith in Klopp. Our goal was top 4 in January and he managed it without signing anyone and losing Lallana Coutinho Mane Henderson along the way. Incredible.

Re: Official Klopp Thread
I'm going to say it was hit and miss.
Overall, 4th place is very good considering the team and competition.
However, the way the team collapsed in January, exiting from both domestic cups in very disappointing fashion, and generally how helpless and uninspired Liverpool looked whenever Mané was missing, I'm personally not very satisfied with Klopp's performance. He needs to do better, and he can.

firmino had some great stats this season tbh. everyone calls him a scrub but he had 35 games. 11 goals. 11 assists. 76 chances created. not bad really.Nishankly wrote:No way we'll peak when he's not even formed his own team properly.
