Seems like the Ballon d'or favorite so far especially if PSG go all the way.

how can he be the favourite (as of now) when Haaland exists?

The way he finished that offside goal, incredible composure.

Neymar is still the guy on this team but Mbappe just a constant menace to play against.

... and that's the reason he will leave. Mbappe wants the team to be built around him. Clearly can handle it as Neymar misses half the season every year and he carries them.

What mbappe showed today was maturity. That’s what impressed me the most. The tracking back and playing for the team is something that CR didn’t do until later in his career

Depends on which one of Neymar and Mbappe shines more in the semis and final.

If PSG go on to win it, it will be a comp between him and Neywar to win it. Imagine Neymar actually winning the Ballon D'or loool, I mean after all these years of underachievement. Neymars done really well in this game also with defending, pressing, and other things we dont usually see him do.

Neymar has played like 3 games in 2021... the 2 games against Bayern and 1 Ligue 1 game where he got a red card last week lol.

This season, in 22 games, he has 13 goals and 8 assists.

He absolutely does not deserve any consideration for any award let alone BDO. He lacks professionalism in the worse way.

He hasn't been the main man... that's just a myth that people who don't watch PSG have perpetrated the past three seasons.  He's missed half the overall games and almost all the big elimination round games.  This Bayern game was really the first good game he's had against an elite team (PSG played non-elite teams until the CL final last season).

Mbappe has been carrying PSG by his presence and his stats.  He's dwarfed Neymar. Mbappe is just extremely direct and efficient with his play while Neymar is more flashy. I've personally been really disappointed with Neymar's professionalism and he seems more interested in being a clown show on the pitch than playing for his teammates... when his dribbling doesn't work, I've seen him straight give up on more than one occasion. It's turned me off in a big way.

This season - 33 goals and 10 assists in 40 games
Last season -  30 goals and 18 assists in 37 games
Two years ago - 39 goals and 17 assists in 43 games

Neymar
This season - 13 goals and 8 assists in 22 games
Last season -  19 goals and 12 assists in 27 games
Two years ago -  23 goals and 13 assists in 28 games

It's really not even close.  If PSG win, Mbappe is the clear best player on the team.

Neymar misses a lot of games through injury, when he is fit and playing he is PSG's best player. Every unbiased non French person knows that. Its not a coincidence that they used to crash out of last 16 without him and then made the final with him last year. This year Mbappe stepped up massively in the CL after flopping the past two years and Neymar has been at his usual high level too.

Also I remember Neymar having a great game against the likes of Liverpool and Man Utd in the group stages, does that not count as big games? He's been unlucky with injuries. His goal/assist per minutes ratio is elite.

Neymar was the best player last night, it's clear, even if he should have scored. His problem is just staying injury free.

He's staying put at PSG. Fairly clear now. It's the best place for him for the next 2-3 years in every which way.

Awful game. 1st touch was off the entire night and just couldnt get in the game. Nobody did in the 2nd half because PSG stopped playing, but overall he'd be disappointed with this one.

So unfortunate for him that he got injured again this past Saturday and he made it worse in the City game. Very very hard tackle that forced him to leave the game with a thigh injury.

He's always targeted and Ligue 1 officiating is brutally bad. Defenders are allowed to play 80s style. He and Neymar take a lot of kicks. Believe it or not, EPL is actually much more fair in terms of protecting attacking players (never thought i would say that in my life lol).

Lille is actually on top with 3 games to go, could it really be PSG dont win the league this year? Would this be a big thing in France? What would their fans think? Acceptable?

It's happened before. Montpellier won the first year of the Qatari era. Monaco with Falcao/Mbappe/Silva/Lemar/Mendy etc won it 4 years ago. So it's not completely unusual.

I don't think PSG fans care much about Ligue 1. As long as they finish ahead of Lyon and Marseille and compete to win CL... a hiccup in Ligue 1 here and there is ok.

At this point i don't see why PSG want to reject? They're getting a handsome sum for a player in the last year of his contract and it helps alleviate some of the criticisms levied at them regarding FFP, in addition its the will of the player to go to Real.
