Mahrez would be well suited to one of those inside-forward roles behind the striker. Like a right sided Alexis, in a way.

But I'm with Urban. I wouldn't sign him only to then stick him or Ozil on the left. That'd be a waste.

I don't see us replacing Alexis or Ozil tbh. I think the media is totally full of crap and we will convince them both to stay.

Given that, I don't think signing Mahrez makes sense if doing so keeps us from spending big on a better player. Attracting said better player could be difficult but when you consider all the players leaving this summer on top of our starting transfer budget, and the fact we're about to sign 2 players but only for 6.8mil total, we can afford to make a huge signings. Mahrez had 1 great year but we can do better if we're only making 1 big name attacking purchase.
^If we loan out Iwobi, then I'd be on board with a Mahrez signing.

   Mbappe could be interested in the fact that Arsenal would build a team around him

   Arsene Wenger is gonna go all in these 2 years

   Mbappe is gonna wait and see what happens transfer wise with fellow team mates
