I'm relatively new to this forum, having returned after a 3 year absence. I find it hard to believe this area of forum is supposed to be Real Madrid fans. The number of posters who are so concentrated on a single player or anti half of the players and coach is surprising. I knew that Chad was here, but I didn't expect to see so many other similar posters. And the arguments that ensue are borderline offensive. I see a thread in general section complaining about the mods, but my god, on other forums most of these arguments would result in bans.

Back on topic, I believe Celta is having a very good start to the season, but in reality, they are playing over their heads. I believe that as long as we don't take them for granted, we will control the game and as I predicted earlier will win 0-2. I do agree this is a huge test for Benitez and team, but I have faith they will come through, regardless of who actually starts.

Just ignore the posts bill thats what i do. There was a time i tried to reason with posters like that after 10 pages of back and forth we were back at square one. No point wasting your time (Izzy) just pretend you didnt read it

Regarding the game. Dont think we will control the game at all. Cant remember the last time we did that. But i believe defensively we will be more solid. We might suffer alittle bit in attack as most of our players will be too busy trying to win the pressing battle with Celta. I believe if we take our chances we can definately win this game, Celta play with a very high line so we are bound to get many chances. Just have to keep an eye out for their wingers and fullbacks

bill why are you such a hypocrite? weren't you the one who said morata>benzema based on nothing, and clearly you and a lot of other posters every season are anti-benzema, even when he is scoring and showing up big time, some you couldn't wait jump on him for 2 misses in a game he scored, but no one is allowed to call cr shit or question his abilities, when he clearly sucks ass.

nothing was wrong with what shade said, cr is more likely to flop vs celta than play great, just posters on here think they can force their opinions if they talk in group, that why you lot are sheepish.

hope benzema and kroos continue to play great and continue to prove all you lot do is guess work, and clearly don't shit about a team you all watch every week.

@Hala, don't you think we controlled most of the game against PSG? Our defense is much more improved this season and it's a team defense which speaks to controlling game plus our midfield is much much better and with options. The only area we are not better is the front line and it's fair to say that is because of the number of injuries we have had. I feel we will soon break out offensively if and when we do get most of the injured back. In the meantime, other than the #2 and #3 porteros, Arbeloa and Denis, all players are proving to be valuable to team. This speaks to options available as we go forward.

What I find most interesting about Celta is Nolito. He is having a break out season after being the promise one for so many years. And the intriguing interest of Barca in him hoping to make him their 3rd official signing in January. If they do succeed in seducing him back, they not only improve as a team, they pretty much kill off one of their competitors!

The thing is, you need your section to be clean with intelligent, well-mannered members who care more about the well-being of the club and only criticize the players when they screw up in the game. You don't want your members to crucify a player every week regardless of whether he does well or not. That's unfair to the player and can only drug us down as a group. So ignoring those posts might save us some time arguing with them, but our section would be unclean. You don't want that.

This is the Real Madrid section, it must be spotless.

@Bill, remember when I told you that the Celta game is more important? It's not because I was underestimating PSG, it's merely because Celta is better and defeating them is a bigger accomplishment than defeating PSG. We are the only two teams who haven't lost yet in La Liga, joint at the top, so this is literally the battle of the unbeaten.

Btw, you shouldn't base your predictions on the PSG game because I'm fairly certain the lineup won't be the same. Don't expect us to be as solid at the back either. Benzema and Ronaldo won't help us in defense. Our good hardworking pressers will be on the bench and might not feature at all throughout the game.

Let's just hope our guys won't be as wasteful with their chances as they have been recently. We need to convert every chance we got to beat Celta.

When i think controlled i think of Barca vs Atleti in the 2nd half. Just a team passing the ball around and taking the sting out of a game. I would call PSG against us non threatening but i wouldnt call it control.

Regarding Nolito i dont know how he feels about being a back up after making a name for himself. Callejon knows how long it takes to get a status back after just being a back up for us. If Nolito leaves Celta for Barca thats the end of his reputation i am afraid. Need to go where he will be the superstar

I agree with you here. The PSG game shouldnt be used as a measure to predict our game vs Celta. Celta in this form would beat PSG i have no doubt about that. I disagree that Benz doesnt defend. I believe he has been great a pressing teams this season. Look no further than our game against Bilbao. He was a big reason why we were so comfortable that game

I am more worried about our fullbacks. Especially Marcelo. Benitez doesnt dare put Ronaldo infront of him surely Shocked

Goalkeepers: Keylor Navas, Casilla and Yañez.
Defenders: Varane, Ramos, Nacho, Marcelo and Danilo.
Midfielders: Kroos, Casemiro, Kovacic, Modric, Isco, Cheryshev and M. Llorente.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Jesse Lucas Vázquez and Borja Mayoral.

I wouldnt be surprised if we saw that 4 man midfield of Kova-Kroos-Casemiro-Modric like we saw against Bilbao. At the same time Benitez seems to rate Lucas so he might start too. Or Jese as he did alot of defensive work vs PSG.

I didn't listen to Rafa's press conference until now. Apparently, even though Benzema is very close to recovery and has trained normally with the group, he still needs further assessments to determine whether he's fit to play or not. So he might not play.

He also said that Kova and Ramos are 50-50 and playing them depends on how many risks we want to take. Looks like Modric is the only one guaranteed to start.

So worst case scenario, we'll play without Benzema, Kova, Ramos, Pepe, James and Carvajal.

In that case, I'd play the same lineup against PSG.

See squad list above. Of the injured only Ramos and Kova are included. Benz definitely out.

Navas, Danilo, Varane, Ramos (or Nacho), Marcelo, Modric, Casemiro, Kroos, Isco, Ronaldo, Jese or Lucas

You're right, Benzema is out.

You know what slightly bothers me is the fact that we're not getting the best out of some of the players. Jesé plays fantastically well on the left, and he's bad pretty much anywhere else. Isco isn't that comfortable on the right either.

Problem is, if we are to play Modric, Kroos and Casemiro all at once, somebody has to play out of position which is a shame.

I think we should leave Modric on the bench for this one and see what happens. If we struggle, we let him in.

Navas, Danilo, Varane, Ramos(Nacho), Marcelo, Casemiro, Kroos, Vasquez, Isco, Jesé, Ronaldo.

Yes Lucas plays in a repeat of PSG game. Kova has to be on bench otherwise no replacements if needed, and with Modric's status, that could be a major problem. Isco has been ineffective lately while both Jese and Lucas have looked much better and they both tracked back exceptionally well last game making our defense rock solid.

Lucas might be in effective going forward but he is a RM who knows how to defend. Make Nolito quiet and you reduce Celtas danger by over 80%. This is a good tactical decision imo

Better defending after taking the lead than vs Atleti. Still alittle bit open in the middle. Probably deliberate the invite Celta were they are no comfortable

Casemiro has been excellent yet again. Kroos too. In fact all have been great. I dont like how Danilo gives up after getting beaten. Run back and help ffs.

Some passing errors from our players but we win the ball back quickly which is good. Jese is back :bow:
