agreed, the shape of the team has become very very disturbing. prioritizing bale's position over the team's is hurting more than its helping (its not helping at all). this is no different from ancelotti's approach to the bale question by the way. if we really want to win, bale should be afforded the opportunity to earn his spot and not hand it to him. the guy should be on the bench and play the role of substitute. i get it, nobody likes a 100 million dollar substitute. another thing nobody likes is 1 league title in 8 years. rafa needs to stop adhering to florentino's politics, its messing the shape of this team up....no true wingers in the line up, no true defensive midfielder in the line up, a winger playing as a number 10....lol this is insane

Spot on. Jesé played very well and was victim to bale and Ronaldo's selfishness and desire to play off one another instead of looking for better options.

first 30 minutes was bale Ronaldo complaining with arms up if they didn't get the ball

The frightening thing is that if you, well we, are seeing what is glaringly wrong with Bale as AM, you can bet Rafa sees it. He probably sees it in training all the time too. But as Tito mentioned, no one likes to see a 100 million dollar sub but everyone hates 1 league title in 8 years. So how does Rafa rectify this without rocking the boat up in upper management, you know, the men who pay his salary.

sigh to be fair to bale he has shown he can be very good, his first couple months was excellent, used his speed wisely, played it simple and quickly with everything, some where along the line he started this poor mans cr impression, that he won't snap out of ffs, he even went and bulked up like that ever helped poor technique.

He is a 100 million footballer bought by Flo. His signing is honestly too politicized at the club and benching Bale for a considerable time or even uttering the phrase "he is not at the level the club initially thought" could get Rafa fired. ronaldo, marcelo and benzema combinations are what makes the team tick and creative. isco is a technical genuis, james is a true number 10 and can play as a second sriker.

Perez will never admit he made a mistake by signing him, would hurt his reputation as a president even more.

I think Perez genuinely believes Bale will eventually improve if he keeps forcing him into the line up, the problem is that he's sacrificing the team to accommodate his expensive signing. if that's the case it shows you how much he cares about the club really, he's there for himself.

Funny thing is that Bale is the one being attacked here when he was active and had a fine game. Why is no one speaking of how bad cristiano was, or how bad cristiano has been all of 2015?

bale had a fine game? being 'active' doesn't necessarily mean you've played well.

Ronaldo didn't score so its concluded that he had a bad game. I assume that's your logic. I don't think you should compare the two performances.

The deduction made by all the posters is the same; The system being played is to be blamed for the loss. The system being played has been created to accommodate bale.

Bale is not a number 10 or a second striker by any stretch. He can run as much as he wants, he can try as much as he wants, he will never prosper in that position in Madrid.

The most annoying thing about this entire situation is their are 3 or 4 other players in the squad who can play in that hole/number10/second striker position and do a way better job that bale.

So Bale had a bad game because of what exactly? Because you guys have an aversion to seeing him play at n10?

From my side, this isn't a reaction to a single game. It's been +2 years of a poor man's Ronaldo being unable to do simple thing right, and it's starting to kill me.
