All aboard the Oscar bandwagon (Ganso pls)

Confirmed PoTY & Balon D'or candidate. Best player in the League, I've seen enough. Not even joking, he's the best player at Chelsea not Hazard.

The signs & flashes of brilliance have always been there but I feel this is the year he'll put it together & deliver consistent World Class 90 minute performances. Unlike Cesc, he should make it past December too considering he just had his first summer off since 2010.

Dribbling has drastically improved (more confidence?), spraying diagonals like Kroos, backheeling with ease like Totti in his prime, he's become a set piece specialist, can finally create & will score 20 goals this season.

EDIT: If Mourinho leaves him out of the team in another big game to park the bus at the Etihad I might commit.

I rated him but since he was given 12 freaking times to Titanic he became a bit of a joke tbh.

I am going to wait until March to make a judgment on Oscar. The ultimate Jekyll and Hyde player. Last season went from being one of our best player, to completely AWOL.

I trust Gil with his opinions, but I also trust dani. One thinks he is great, other thinks he is a fraud.

Basically he divides opinions. From what I've seen, he is as Blue mentioned. Great at times, and invisible the other times.

However he seems to be quite important in big matches and plays much better than Fraudregas. But Mourinho benches him rather than Fabregas whenever possible.

What really impressed me about him before he joined Chelsea was how good he was at making space for himself, subtle movements off the ball which created space for himself and his team mates.

Seemed an extremely intelligent footballer at that time, i haven't seen it as much since he joined Chelsea. That might have something to do with playing for Mourinho though as he's probably not the best manager for expressing your talent.

He's always good in August, and he will probably be just as good in September and October.

He won't show up when you guys play Leicester December 12th though.

He's a very good player who is badly utilised by Jose and will remain a fraud so long as he is under Jose's management.

Agree with this. I blamed it on fatigue but if he repeats it this season (for the first time since he joined Chelsea he did not play a summer tournament this time) I am going to diagnose him with Cesc syndrome. He was Chelsea's best player on the first half of last season.

Gil completely ignoring me smh. I defend him a lot in this forum where were u poses then ffs?! All these OTT comments of him having no business being in Brazil's team (they did so great without him right?) and every half decent AM being better than him lol. Selective memory completely forgetting all the great performances he gives out.

Also I'm afraid Mourinho made him too defensive, if I continue seeing that this season I'm gonna join team Urban on Oscar being Slavescar under DMourinho.

He is playing for a wrong manager. I will like to see him play under Klopp or Wenger. They will make him better than the prime Goetze or Ramsey.

Question: Why don't Brazil play all of Lucas, Oscar, Coutinho & Neymar together? Either they're left out or scrubs like Willian, Hulk, Elias etc are pigeon-holed into the team.

The problem with Brazil is that they have too many players that like to play the same positions. Realistically Coutinho, Oscar and Firmino all play best at the 10, but Coutinho plays probably equally well out left and a bit deeper, but Neymar likes to play out left.

Oscar is an attacking midfielder. not a DLP or whatever he is in that formation.

Nerman is a given, Oscar and Lucas are a must. Firmino or Coutinho on the left. Gustavo and Allan in the pivot.

Pre season legend Douglas Costa > Firmino and Coutinho tbh.

I'm aware of what Oscar is, but Coutinho and Firmino are better. Plus Firmino offers more directness that can be exploited by Lucas and Coutinho. Oscar can work as a midfielder.
