I didn't see a collective thread for the European Championship qualifiers which start today and thought we should have one.

Platini wanted to be re-elected and the 24 team Euro gives the smaller countries a bigger chance to participate, thus ensuring their votes for Platini.

That's a rather cynical view, I think it can also be argued that the quality of football in Europe is good enough to have a 24-nation tournament. I'm not saying I'm necessarily in favour of the 24 team tourney, but we should first see how it goes before judging it.
