6'1 DM. Argentina can definitely do with them. Hope he is legit. Defence still as bad as ever but Sampaoli wouldn't care about that.

Needs width. Paredes can't provide width and Dybala plays center/right. Who plays on the left in that team? Papu and Di Maria?

I would expect his standard 4231 to continue so I'm thinking more along the lines of

Higuain/Icardi
Di Maria - Dybala - Messi
Banega - Biglia
Salvio? - Mascherano - Otamendi/Mammana - Mercado

Also, we looked better in one match than all of Bauza's tenure. Can't wait to see how this all turns out. It's quite obvious there are weaknesses (especially on the wings) but I like the start.

Disappointing how none of the past 6 managers have been able to create a team that structurally creates plays. We just lack midfielders that can pass. Messi has to drop to the midfield to create chances for the rest or himself... same as 8 years ago.

Disappointing that Pastore has never been able to be that guy. Also why not try Di Maria in a 3 man midfield just like he played during his best season ever ? Nonetheless, yes Argentina's midfield is very subpar .

Di Maria had an awful game, and he was playing as part of the midfield. Kinda shocked he played for 91 minutes, Samp must be blind.

Why I've watched this match yesterday night Laughing

Gone to sleep at 3 AM for it.
Well it looked like the usual chaotic Argentina based on Messi exclusively.. tbh the match against Uruguay at Montevideo is always particular, the football is almost secondary
Icardi was enough intangible , probably he felt also the emoction of debut. Tbf there was a clear penalty on him in last minutes, time for VAR . Serie A is future , trust me.

Honestly I was thinking about Paredes. Wouldn't mind him as a starter at all, especially over the none factor Di Maria. The fact that dima played for 91 minutes makes me seriously doubt Sam's coaching ability.

Robes Icardi played well, made many diagonal runs to open spaces, but there was no service. I don't think anyone blamed him for not showing up.
