Whats the point of Tevez with Aguero and Messi already?

Messi plays behind two strikers and Tevez can play in both the striker position and the #10. I would've though with his good form at least he'd get a look in over the ever so injured Kun or the underperforming Pipa or even as a back up for Messi at the very least

Although this is true in general and more than ability there seems to be off-the-pitch reasons for Tevez' exclusion - Argentina could have actually used him in the World Cup. After Agüero's injury and Higuain doing a Higuain on the big stage the next best option off the bench was Palacio (sorry Robes ).

But why would you have Aguero and Tevez when they are quite similar, except one is better.

I think Higuain or even Lavezzi gives them something more intresting and different.

Even if you brought Tevez as a 4th option back up, he will probably cause more harm than good...like at City.

So I agree, Tevez could have been used at the WC after Aguero injury. But thats even if he made it to that point without causing problems because he's a back up

Yeah, I'm not advocating for him to be reincluded right now. He seems to cause trouble off the pitch. I just found it funny that Argentina were really desperate for a quality striker in the actual tournament although beforehand it was the opposite and they were looking extremely top heavy. Higuain and Agüero produced 1 goal together in the whole tournament and then they had to bring on Palacio as a super sub just to miss sitters as well. The Tevez curse.

I have not watched Inter lately. How is Icardi playing?

I only now notice that Lavezzi is not there. Are we really not calling him up after he proved so useful in the tournament? Hopefully he is injured or something.

No question Palacio was terrible. The only way to say it is he just isnt good enough for the top level at this point.

Wasted a ton of chances with poor touches and even worse finishes.

I am not satisfied about his last matches.
He began well , hattrick against Sassuolo, 1 disallowed goal but it was regular against Palermo but that's not the point, for me he still touches few balls, he doesn't help the team and recently he is not also cynical as the past.
He must improve much on work for the team .. for example Palacio is in clear decline, but even in these conditions he gives  better support in this than Icardi
So atm he isn't ready for Argentina level .
about Palacio yes he was terrible ( as Higuain or Aguero though) ,no doubts, but  tbf he played with medical infiltrations because he got injured in friendly match before of WC. And infact he was not fit and still he is not fit because he didn't rest when he would have had to do it, and infact 0 goals so far.. on the other hand  okay, his last relevant thing made at international  level was Libertadores 2007 , but damn he was always legit in leagues , not less than Lavezzi for example

Lavezzi might not be a clinical player but he will work his ass off for the team in roles that he knows will not earn him any accolades from the public at large. He's the kind of player every coach wants in their team.

where is the hate ? : It is an offense to have said he had similar performance than Palacio in Serie A ? I am not talking about Pampa Sosa...  
Palacio scored 20 goals with  a scrub Genoa ffs and made also assists because his real role is the SS i( asking to Martin Palermo : ) . and he was the main difference maker for Inter in last 2 years and infact he was called up for NT .
it's very difficult to play so well for Inter mate , it 's difficult for pressure firstly not comprable to other clubs  , just asking to other important players in past... so credit to him

then about the fact that Lavezzi has different international level/importance no doubts, Palacio not even played in CL and he will never do it

Guzman was the Newell's keeper when Martino was their coach. Now he scrubs it at some Mexican club. He's pretty much in the list only beecause he's Martinos boy.

Banega is great when he's having a good match, which unfortunately is once every 5. Perez and Biglia deserve to start over him.

Funes Mori can look very solid but deserves to lose his starting spot at River over costly brainfarts, definitely not good enough for the NT.

Orban Well, if Martino doesn't like Rojo there I'll admit we have no one good as a LB. Might as well try, I guess.

Casco is a very good LB imo

I would prefer Vangioni personally, but Casco is good as well.

My god what a borring match. Invisible midfield. Parked bus = 30 shots from midfield. A million crosses, roughly speaking, none of which have reached their intended target. Even with Parkella we didn't play this boring.
