Predict the Score - World Cup Edition

Rules



Format Example

Please use the following format for every prediction.

Brazil 2-1 Croatia [Neymar, Oscar] [Mandzukic]



Score Column


CORRECT RESULT = 2 POINTS

If you get the result right, then it's 2 points. So if Brazil beat Croatia 3-0 and you said 1-0, then it's 2 points.


EXACT SCORE = 5 POINTS

If you get the exact score right, then it's 5 points.


Predict one or more of the goalscorers, but not all of them = 1 point.


Predict all the goalscorers correctly in the match and it's 10 points. The prediction has to be exact. So if Ronaldo scores the only goal of a match and you predict Ronaldo and someone else, you will only receive 1 point. Same with if you predict multiple goals for Ronaldo, when he only scores 1 goal.


If you predict a goalscorer correctly but get the result wrong, you will still get a point if you got at least one or more of them right, or 10 points if you got them all right.


If you get the exact score as well as the exact goalscorers, then you get 20 points for the match.



Goalscorer Column


For the 'goalscorers guessed' column, you get a point for every goal a player scores. So if you guess 2 goals for a player and he scores 2 goals, you will get 2 points. This is different to the points column, where you don't get a point for every goal. If you are level on points with someone, the goalscorer column determines who is ahead.


Other Rules


If you forget to post your predictions on time, you can still post the predictions for the games that haven't started yet.

You can also edit goalscorers up until the match starts.

If you want to edit a prediction/goalscorer for a match that is yet to kick off, however another match has already started, then you must post all your predictions again, excluding the matches that have started.

Suggest fixtures, bonuses etc for the first round.

Round 1

Optional bonus for this round: Predict the score at half time in any of the matches and get 3 points for each. You can use this bonus for every match.

Predict the score at half time correctly in 3 of the matches and get 12 points.

Predict the score at half time correctly in all of the matches and get 20 points.


Example:

There are no point deductions etc for getting this wrong.
