JT must be absolutely despised amongst his peers lol. By far the best CB in the League this season. Kompany

3 of that back 4 should be nowhere near the line up.
Rest of it is fine though, although id pick Silva over Lallana personally.

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
Agree with you on that. It's a shame fullbacks are rated more for their offensive exploits rather than their defending these days but it's the other way round for CB's.
Coleman and Shaw would be nowhere near the team if it wasn't the case. I do rate Shaw though, miles better than Baines ever was.

Chelseas whole backline should be there. Matic and Hazard as well. PFA continually embarrassing themselves. Clueless.

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
Terry - Mertesacker by far for me .
(while no Arsenal players now and it' strange for me considering their league was very good , their fought even for the title before of injures ... )
But noone of two instead.
The rest of lineup is right I think

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
I don't actually mind Coleman.... mainly due to lack of consistent performers past Christmas.
Unless you want to put Azpi there and place Gibbs at LB...
Personally my team would be....
Jibers why the F are you mentioning Matic? he didn't start any games till February lol, he's been good but someone who has played so little cannot be considered IMO.

Cech
Azpi Mertesacker Terry Gibbs
Yaya Gerrard

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
Shaw atleast is a good defender, his only problem this season has been a lack of positional sense at times, but nothing atrocious.
Coleman however is the typical hipster inclusion in these XI's. Ivanovic/Sagna better this season.

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
Mole tbh I don't think any of these teams mean anything. Nice awards to hand out but I've said this before, the only thing that matters is the EPL title. Individual trophies means sod all. Too hard to start cherry picking players. Pools attacking players stand out and Chelseas defensive players stand out.
@RG Matic dominate RM in the cl final even though he cant play. Thats how good he is atm, he can shackle them by his mere presence...on his couch

Why gibbs over shaw? As an arsenal fan ive obvs seen gibbs far more often and as a result seen all his faults more clearly, but each time ive watched shaw he looked better than gibbs. Mainly because he knows what hes doing when he has the ball

Disagree, Sagna was great in first half of year but has been quite poor since the new year IMO.
Ivanovic has been ok, but not team of the year standard IMO.
Coleman has been good IMO, not as great as some will say but still the competition is not really there.

Gibbs has barely put a foot wrong. Has been solid defensively and decent in attack.DuringTheWar wrote:Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:I don't actually mind Coleman.... mainly due to lack of consistent performers past Christmas.

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
In which games were Ivanovic and Sagna poor? I can tell all the mistakes Coleman has done this season as I've been watching him a lot since we've been linked but he never impresses me. Yes he's better than both of them in attack, that is mainly because he's a converted winger but defensively Ivanovic and Sagna are above two levels.
It's alright though, Coleman has had his breakthrough year and scores a lot of goals, while Sagna and Ivanovic have been doing it for a while, they are not hipsterish enough to make these lists.

I just looked at wjoscored and shaw has double the amount of accurate crosses and key passes

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
A LB job is not to supply crosses Otherwise, Giroud might as well be in there for making the most successful tackles of a CF

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
Yes it is, its one of his jobs, ive lost count how many times we've got gibbs behind the opponents defence and he ruined it with an appalling cross. If he could cross we'd probably have 10 more goals from the chaos they would cause
